The fact that everything i see is made up of billions of tiny things i can't see.
Me too, infact my mind got blown twice! Once finding out we were all made of tiny little things that where all individually alive on their own (which still freaks my out a bit, its like piling a bunch of ants together and watching a single entity form, although u do get hivemind.. but i digress) and then again when i found out that all of those where made of atoms! (dont even ask about what happened when i found out about quarks)

But yes this discovery shaped who i am today. The initial fascination of this fact got me interested and now im doing a Biomed course at uni. Funny how one small fact can have such an effect on someone

Science. Almost everyday I learn something new or something new is discovered and it blows my mind how much more science is advancing everyday.
Couldn't agree more to my knowledge its the only field of work that can and does change every day with a new discovery! Plus theres something very satisfying about knowing how the universe works

The fact that if I played "Outrun" on my Sega Mega Drive, and cranked up the volume on the TV to 50-70-ish the whole living room started to shake XD (I was alone at home for an hour at the age of 5. Damn that was fun as hell).

And of course, The internet. We had a 56k dial up modem, the sounds it make as it connected to the internet was wonderful (and still fills me with nostalgia today)... Also, I found out why my dad didn't want me to go on the internet. Let's just say I got introduced to the female human anatomy very quick thanks to one of dads bookmarks...

When in elementary my teacher tried explaining how the eye perceives colour by the colour spectrum and so forth.

He blew the entire class' brains that day. We almost revolted. I still remember how we denied everything he said. Oh, how I laugh at our ignorance today.

My mom pulled the wool over my eyes in epic fashion when I was nine---it was her crowning moment of awesome as a mom.

We went out for a Christmas party in the neighborhood on the 24th. My father had just passed away two months before, and I had outgrown the whole Santa Claus thing. My mom---well, she just wasn't ready to deal with that from her kids, not when their father had just died. She needed to believe that her kids were still kids, so it was as much for her as for my seven-year-old brother and me.

Anyway, long story short, she had my uncle Kevin (I didn't find out about this until I was 21 when my mom finally told me---and my then-girlfriend---the story!) come into the house, eat all the cookies, put the presents under the tree, and steal away into the night after leaving a note that said "Your dad still loves you. And you've been very good. - Santa" with the presents.

I called my friend Steve next door (never mind that it was midnight!) and said "Steve! Steve! He's REAL! Santa's REAL! He came to my house and everything!" (give me a break, I was nine!)

Best Christmas EVER.

Not very spectacular but the trick where it looks like you are pulling your thumb tip off. Also the balancing trick with the fork, spoon and matchstick. I still amaze my little cousins with that balancing trick.
