OP: First two Godfather movies, they are almost universally liked by critics and being held as some of the best movies in history, and "regular" audience seems to like it just as much.
I can not tell you how much it hurts me to quote Family Guy because I think that the majority of it is insultingly bad but in this one instance it feels so right that I can overlook that.

'I did not care for The Godfather'

Now, if you will excuse me, I need to take a shower and then watch some 12. Oz Mouse.

(P.S. If you like Family Guy, that's cool, each to their own. I'm not trying to start a flame war, just exaggerating my dislike of a cartoon because it amuses me.)

*Edit* Chuck Norris is a terrible human being and an even worse meme and I won't qualify that like my FG diss because I feel that is less objective. He is awful.

Mass Effect.

I've yet to encounter anyone besides me who doesn't like that game.
Your not alone, that game put me to sleep.

Red Dead Redemption is pretty universally respected, and for good reason.

I can't think of anything actually. If you are active on enough forums you will surely find someone who hates Star Wars og fought Final Fantasy VII was a bad game or say Shakespeare's pieces are outdated. Nothing is universally loved - just almost.

Final Fantasy 7 seem pretty much immune to hatred.
Final Fantasy VII is one of those games that now gets a lot of backlash because it WAS so universally loved. Now every hipster in his Super Meat Boy T-shirt wants to call the game "linear, boring and poorly written".

Bands/Artists: Devin Townsend, Pixies, Faith No More (Mike Patton), Les Claypool.

Games: Minecraft, Half-Life 2.

TV Shows: Firefly, Black Books, Spaced, How Not To Live Your Life.

That's all I can think of right now.

Ok, I am going to stop stalking this thread now because it is making me look way more negative than I'm comfortable with but this one last time.......

RDR was a MASSIVE disaapointment for me. I was super excited when I picked it up. Then I played it. The most charitable I can be is to say it was long sequences of "I am so bored right now" broken up with "Ok, this is pretty fun". I quit playing in Mexico, went back to try it again and got through Mexico only to give up again when I was Nathan Drakeing it up a mountain after having my desire to shoot the condsending coke addict in the face thwarted and that was boring too.

Loved the hell out of ME2 though. I get people not liking it, but I am not one of them. Loved it.

Final Fantasy IV. Everyone I know who has played that game has nothing bad to say about it and if they did they'd probably just be a spoony bard.

I pretty sure that half or most of us like Anime (or there is very few who goes on hating it).
The last poll i found said we got about 8 percent haters and about three times as much "i dont cares". But we can't assume that everyone voted. Still 8% intelligent life is way more than i expect in an online community
The problem is that about 98% of anime is just pure "AM I KAWAI DESU?" bullshit which leads to truely brilliant gems getting overlooked. For every "Cowboy Bebop" and "Lupin the third" there is a thousand Naruto's and Lucky Star's.

I agree with this guy.

I don't see why anime such as bleach and Naruto get so much praise, when "good" anime's such as Darker than black, the Slayers, Welcome to the NHK, Escaflowne and Higurashi don't. Its pure madness I tell you.

OT: probably the Inbetweeners, it feels like i'm the only person who hates it.

What are some movies, bands, songs, games, whatever that seem to never had something bad said about it ? Or atleast seem generally liked.

It seems that most things today are divisive, but there has to be something that most people can all like.
just because somthing is not hated dosnt mean it NEEDS to be hated

OT: Umm... Neil Patrick Harris? I've never heard anyone say they don't like him. =P
While I have a pretty big man crush on him personally, he's gay so there are plenty of people who will hate him just for that. Awful, awful people. Also I've seen a few snarky websites complaining about him hosting so many award shows with a little too much enthusiasm.

(Off topic but this reminds me, did anyone watch the Spike TV gaming awards? The whole thing was so terrible and Neil looked visibly uncomfortable delivering some of the stuff that was written for him. Even I was uncomfortable during his acceptance of the award for his voice work and I was only watching it.)

I'm not sure there's anything or anyone that doesn't get some degree of hate. It is in our nature to destroy ourselves.

I'll take a shot at picking something though I expect to be proven wrong within a few posts.

Batman: Arkham Asylum? I haven't seen anyone hating on it and I'm not sure why anyone would.
I watched most of it. You have to try to write things for Harris that he can't make funny. They did.
OP: Portal. For obvious reasons.

Stephen Fry; it's impossible to not find something to love about him!
Nah, there are a lot of people who don't like him, myself included. To be fair, I don't like him but, but what I hate is the ridiculous fanbase he has for being a ****

Have you guys not been on the internet? For the last 15 years I've never seen a metal band get as much hate as 'tallica

OT: There've been a lot of examples, but basically what it boils down to is the more mediocre things are, the less hate they will get, because people always want to be contrary when it comes to popularity.

I think rottentomatoes.com gets far to much adoration, for what is effectively a comparison website. Their un-scientific method of ranking films is irritating, and non representative of any for of quality. In fact, it favours mass appeal, inoffensive mush, which is not unlike the list of things on here XD Which is why Toy Story 2 is apparently the greatest film of all time

I can only hope this was some attempt at humour aimed at the 1st part of my post.
[sub][sub][sub]Not implying you like The Gothfather, but rather that you deliberately quoted me because of what I said[/sub][/sub][/sub]
