I was reading a post about pokemon and I remembered that when I had blue and red someone told me that if you hold a while the pokemon is being captured or press a each time the ball shakes it helps catch it and I did that for every game after that even though I'm not sure if it helped or not. Do you have something you do even though you aren't sure that it helps?

When I play MW2 I sit in a certain position because I think if I sit in a different one I play worse than usual.

For the Pokemon thing I always heard it was B-Down at the same time. I still do it.

I also hold down the left stick in Borderlands while sniping, even though I know there isn't any holding your breath.

When I get super frustrated with certain games I launch my controller out the window. I'm not sure that helps... lol

(I don't really, just thought I'd throw that in there. Pardon the Pun.)

I have about a billion of these habits, I have to say my most noticeable one is if I'm playing a shooter, I tend to try and kill all of my enemies using things such as grenades and knives etc. until I use my bullets, I dunno why I do this, I guess it's to get more mileage out of these items that I have or something like that. It adds some challenge to it though :D

Heh, I'm the exact opposite. I tend to never, ever use extra items in games unless I have to. Grenades, potions, powerful one-shot weapons. Because what if, later, I really need them?

That just gave me an awesome mental image.

OT: I always try and kill everything with one shot. All the time.

Me too. I have to sit forward and plantmy feet firm on the ground.

I'm sure I don't play as well when I sit back and relax.

Omg I used to do that all the time, so much so I forgot anyone told me to do it I just thought it was a game mechanic, wow.

I tend not to use any potions or grenades or things I get in games to save them for some time I might need them later. Usually leads to dying a lot and an endless supply of extras.

Frenzied thrashing of all the buttons as you throw a pokeball. Apparantly that was supposed to help and not break your fingers.

I am just like this. I usually always use the character's healing abilities, or never use the other weapons with ammo except to open new paths, just me and my base, unlimited base ability.
Also, whenever a game is taking a long time to load, I tap the console, or shake the handheld, and talk to it "come on, you can load faster than that!"

Some people think that getting very stoned and playing online games is a hindrance. Ha! I say Ha!

Although it does upset the kill/death ratio somewhat.

So thats what I do, but don't think it helps.
My Paitent on Tf2 last night was drunk, and he was playing just as normal as a soldier.

The most hilarious one of those things is when you see/hear people shouting "CATCH!" into their DS' microphone while playing one of the newer Pokemon games.

I do have a habit of playing difficult sections at around 3am, since that's what the time was when I beat Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Horse racing in GTA San Andreas.
I know it's no use, but I always tap space+left mouse button like crazy.
And I always win.
Faith is a powerful thing.

I always pressed A repeatedly in Pokemon games, and I tend to save the strong supplies for later, except most of the times I never get to actually use them because unless a certain sequence/opponent is giving me an overly hard time, I save them.

And I also sit myself upright when playing a competitive game or when in a boss or otherwise hard sequence if I'm playing on the PC, while if I'm playing on a console I actually get up. It's probably mainly due to getting stressed, but it does usually help my performance if slightly.

Putting my mouse in a certain position, it doesn't make a noticeable difference. It's just habit.
