Things You Want in Minecraft

Light producing items that you carry and still produce lights, work like torches in Terraria.

Some block besides water that negates fall damage entirely.

More water-based mobs

More farming and fishing options and results.

Ways to lock doors, chests, furnaces and whatever else without using server mods.

Decorations besides paintings.

Light-producing item that can be hung on ceilings (besides glowstone). Maybe a candelabra?

EDIT: Oh yes, and:

Armor that completely negates fire-based damage

Boots that prevent the user from taking fall damage

The ability to chop down trees, locks for chests, furniture, and I wish there was some easy way to have adjacent transmission lines in redstone circuits, other than repeaters.

old school guns and rifles, canons, and the ability to mine uranium for nuclear bombs so i can turn mine into a post apocalyptic wasteland.

Right now, I'm pretty content with the game, but there is one thing I want added. An option at the new world setup to dictate if the world has NPCs or not. That way, people who like the isolation still have it, while those who would prefer to play in a populated world offline have the option as well.

What do you want added before final release?

EDIT. I also want moving blocks. I'd love to see a rotating windmill.

It's Adventure mode, not Survival addition.

I've said this in literally every thread about MineCraft I've been on... I'm starting to wonder if it's even true

Anyway, I'd just like to see some new ores, items, mobs, that kind of thing. And some simplification for redstone wouldn't be such a bad thing either.

The NPC villages, dungeons and things like that are going to be added in the "Adventure Update". However, to clear things up, Jeb has said that adventure update does not imply adventure mode, not to say that it couldn't, though. This would indicate that these features may end up being part of survival mode and that adventure mode could be something else added later. However, I could very easily be going off of outdated information, and it's possible adventure mode has been confirmed.

and from the looks of it, it looks like they can hold blocks o_o so that possibly means that they can move blocks around.
Think about it, you're huddled inside your house on a dark night, and suddenly you see a block of your wall disappear as Enderman pulls it away, to peer inside at you D8

Adamantite or Mithril which will be an upgrade from Diamond and should mine Obsidian faster. Also hidden armor so my character model doesn't look like a teal goon when I'm in full diamond. Either that or more aesthetically pleasing armor.

Also fix water physics and slabs please!

I do wish they would add objects that can be interacted with that are much larger than the player and can be moved/interacted with.

Quicksand that actually makes you sink, would be cool to make some sort of secret cavern, sort of simular to one of the stages in world 8 in Mario 3 that leads to 2 pipes or something.

Either that or either stronger proportioned minecart engines...or at least make it easier to jump into a engine pushed minecart....it always speeds off and i can never jump into the cart in front. :x

An "Age of Minecraft" type gamemode. Basically:
-NPCs.
-2+ nations/empires.
-Start off normally/cave man style, but eventually progress through real-life history, slowly increasing technology, having wars with the other empires until eventually you have planes/airships, perhaps rockets to go the moon and other planets with new minerals, mecha, etc, etc.

Millenaire mod kinda has this, but nothing really advances but the buildings. And you would advance buy collecting x amount of material and building certain technologies.

Well. I think a good thing to add would be user-created journals and books. You might be able to craft a magic bookcase, so that when you right click it you can put in, say, a bar of gold and pick a user-created book. You could then use bookshelves as chests that worked specifically for books.

I'd like to see magic in the game, but have it optional.

Gates! I want a massive mountain fortress with an enormous gate which slowly swings outwards.

A new light source which spreads light over a larger area, so that if I were to have a large room I don't need to cover the walls with torches.

More enemies.

Better dungeons. Ones with traps and mazes!

Speaking of dungeons, why not surface ruins as well?

NPCs, little villages (a la millenaire) but also maybe npcs that you could get to help you? I'd like to have a castle that I could assign guards to, and maybe have a merchant. Sorta like Terraria.

With the massive ships and trains, I'd like them to be different. Perhaps ships that you aren't sitting in all the time? As in, have a boat that you can actually walk down to the hold. Maybe have captain's quarters with a bed, a hold with chests, crow's nest...

Bigger oceans. We'll need this if the ships are put in. I've only ever come across lakes. I don't want to have to get out of my giant ship in order to dig a channel so I can actually get anywhere with it.

A telescope item, to see things in the distance.

Maps that update. I don't want to have to remap and entire area now that a forest fire has destroyed the forest that was once there.

Ways to mark maps.

That is a mod installer for Minecraft it Downloads and installs the mods for you. Just make lots of back ups. When you are sniping creepers with your guns you shall thank me. But seriously back-up your stuff in case you download incompatible mods.

OT: An awesome fun combat system would put Minecraft above all other games forever.

I have a list!

- More minerals in the Nether and more uses for the ones that are currently there. Oh, yeah, less ghasts.
- More portals to other worlds and more thigs to do unique to those worlds.
- Everything in the 'Better than wolves', 'Amazopack' and 'Aether' mods.
- Proper dungeons.
- In-game mod support. (So I can download a mod through the game client and also toggle mods on/off as I please)
- Automatic construction tool. (Place a base bject in something and when the ingredients for it get put in have it automatically create that object for you)
- Some more interesting mobs.
