Sorry, just had to do that. I think these are pretty funny actually, they're cute and I love cats, and I don't find lolcats that funny anyway, so this is a breath of fresh air. Whoever created this site, kudos. Many many kudos.

I came across this site on one of Susan Arendt's tweets: averagecats.com [http://averagecats.com]. To be honest I find this concept much funnier than the whole lolcats concept which has been done to death. I'm definitely more for the dry and cynical approach.

Eh, I still prefer lolcats.

Some of these are pretty funny. the "This Cat is Not a Pirate" one, for instance. Stating the obvious that cats do not break maritime law somehow makes it funny.

The ones where "there is no invisible bicycle" aren't really funny. Yes, there's no such thing as an invisible bicycle, everyone realizes that. there's no real "clever" elements to these.

But on the Lolcats site, despite the fact I like the cats themselves, I want to do violent and messy things to the people who comment in that damned LOLspeak.

I don't really find it funny because it's just stating obvious facts about cats. With lolcats people have taken silly photos of cats that make it look like the cat is doing something that it obviously isn't which is actually cleverer than this.

The [b/]non[/b]lol cat one is funnier. I like the long, logical explination to why it isnt funny. That just makes it more funny.

Yeah, this is interesting in the fact that someone wants to try and end the LOLCat movement with an anti-LOLCat site.

But as we all know from the people who had a No Cats on the Internet Day (a call for a ban on LOLcats for just one day), the backlash of trying to stop LOLCats is that LOLCat production triples or quadruples for the next week or so.
