My first play-through of Demon's Souls. It was extremely frustrating but I knew that it was almost always my fault for being rash.

yeah I heard of it, I think I have beaten it, but dont really remember now, it wasnt really that hard though, it was mostly memorization and move carefully

also, if the trauma is back, play the japanese version, really, it's a lot easier

see, due to Japan's "game rental is forbidden" regulation, the game was really toned down so it could be more appealing, so, to force north americans to buy the game, they made it too difficult to be beaten in a single rental

There's a time in every gamer's life when he looks down at his controller, then back up at the screen and thinks "Damn... This is a really hard game." Now, I'm not talking about broken games or games that you get bored with because you can't win. I'm talking about good games that you have fun with; so much so that you don't even realise your ass is getting kicked.

I'll start off with Company of Heroes.

I still enjoyed it though.

I have seen that and it seems half the game has imaginary difficulty (cheap kills and what not).

OT: The older Castlevania games and Contra. I would say Demon's Souls, but the difficulty is cut down if you adapt quickly enough.

Many roguelikes, such as Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Nethack and ADOM (especially ADOM).

Oh, and a great deal of bullet hell shooters. Not easy.

Seriously, i had a blast with the game, but it freaking hated me.

Same Hear great story. Actually i'm considering once i become more skilled will 3d modeling to re create ZERO 3 in a Mega man legends sort of style. Same platforming up floors but imagine the fun to be had. Give me about 1 year and i'll have some sort of demo product.
