FIrst of all I know this isn't gaming talk, but it is related to game so it doesn't belong in off topic either.

Secondly this is NOT a thread about Dragonage do not dismiss it as one, dismiss it when you think I am just bitching.

So, the potential discussion topic or potential ignored topic is this.

About a month ago I bought dragonage origins, which included two redeemable DLC codes. a couple of days ago I finally had access to the internet and tried to redeem these codes. The game was brand new and factory sealed and I was the only one who had access to it. When trying to redeem the system tells me that boths codes have already been redeemed. I explained the situation and the support guys told me there was nothing they could do, and the only option I have is to pay for the things that should have come free with the games.

So I put this to you all, how many of you have been fucked over like this? and how did you react? my basic thoughts at the moment are just to take it on the chin but NOT buy any content from them, well not the ones I should have gotten for free anyway.

Right well, I'm going to regret this as soon as I post it and probably get suspended for creating a flame thred, but you know what fuck it, had to let someone know I've been fucked over. Anyway enjoy.

Ouch dude seriously thats really fricking unlucky. Just checked the box, i thought perhaps the DLC codes had expired but that doesnt happen until 30th of April.

Im currently getting screwed as I just bought and downloaded Pinnacle Station for ME1 but the bloody content isnt loading into the game *shakes fist at Xbox*.

I forget to mention that. The expirary dates were the first thing I checked before talking to the tech guys.

Same sort of thing, maybe this downloadable content stuff is just liable to not work.

You didn't get fucked over. There was a technical issue of some sorts that stopped you from redeeming your codes, and that's it. Bioware didn't do this just to spite you or to steal your money, it's just bad luck. I say it again, you have not been fucked over, you just want someone to blame.

As for me, I can't think of a moment when I was fucked over, at least not a gaming related moment.

Unfortunately, I can't offer much help. I bought it on the release day and my codes worked just fine. I think you should kick up more of a fuss about it. Write (by snail mail and e-mail) to them complaining. You paid for something and those codes were part of that package, you shouldn't be missing out because of some error.

I accept that, I was just the unlucky one that the sytem decided to screw up on, it still should be fixable though. I also accept that someone could be lieing about something like this but as Centauri says

It is part of the package and I am missing out. I'm not talking a small thing either, not for a download anyway, it costs £12 and the second one isn't even available for purchase.

You would think they would want to maintain customer morale in such a market as this

Some people have been having issues with Dragonage DLC, I personally didnt. Aparently the biggest problem was with the Return to Ostagar DLC...can other people please remind what happened there as i don't think I experiance any problems with it?

I don't think that is the case. BUt anyway, I am quite calm, unfortunately my way of speaking just includes a lot of swearing, as I said I'm just taking it on the chin.

that was actually one of the frequently asked questions on the page, so I know it isn't only me.

Edit: bloody fail with the quoting, my apologies.

I was fine with all my EA codes from the last year or so of gaming but my friend had the same issue with the Dragon Age ones, but they fixed it for him when he called the help line, so I do not know.

Bad bad luck indeed

I suggest you write them a very angry nasty little letter (oh, yes indeed!) using very nice and civilized words.

It is probably a good idea to include a copy of proof of purchase, the codes, the computer I.P address and anything else that might be of use

Good luck

Whenever I get messed over by technology, I tend to go directly to the store from which a bought it and complain until it gets fixed.

Sometimes gaming stores have mysterious powers

When I bought Fallout 3 and the disc was actually DLC
In the end I downloaded the DLC and returned the disc for the actual game

When I bought Fable 2 the disc was not the game, it was a bonus content disc

Dude that sucks. Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. I had gotten WoW and a game card for my birthday, and I got home, fucked around installing it on all those damn discs, and updates and whatnot, and went to put in the registration code, and it said that it was already in use, and that I was screwed. I too talked with tech support, but they were useless. Luckily, I got the game at Wal-Mart, so I just brought it back that evening and told them what was what, and they allowed me to exchange the game. Perhaps you could take the same route, depending on where you bought the game.

Both of my codes worked fine, but then again I used them right away on release day. Maybe someone did get lucky with random codes, either way, it sucks to not be able to get something that you already paid for. Digital distribution has many advantages, but it also has many flaws, and this is one of them.

Maybe you should post this on a Bioware forum?
I got my copy of Dragon Age used off of eBay in January and my download codes worked. I'm chalking that one up to luck.

Well I wasn't really looking for help on the subject, I have accepted for now that I can't do anything but I'll probably change my mind in the morning, more I was just looking to let people let out their own problems with the system so to speak,

but never mind.

I will vacate this area for now and return tomorrow, if you're still all offering advise I'll reply if not I'll let the thread go it's own way. Goodnight all. Good Evening if you're in America.

Warranty's already out, had it a month before I had chance to try the downloads.
