I just heated a double chocolate chip muffin to the point where the bottom part of it exploded chocolate everywhere, then ate it. It was delicious.

Whilst eating it it crumbled all over me and I found myself yelling "OH MY GOD! THIS MUFFIN IS LOSING ITS STRUCTUAL INTEGRITY!" In classic Star Trek style. I've come to the realisation because of this incident, and many others, that I am now a complete and utter nerd.

So my fellow Escaplians, when did you first realise your inner nerdism and please share your own stories of nerdy outcries.

I think for me it was watching Doomsday Arcade and understanding EVERY single joke they made for the entirety of the show.

Everytime I say "lol" out loud.

When I talked in my sleep and I was explaining that I was just getting repairs in the Undercity and that I'd catch the Zeppelin soon.

When I realised people who don't go on the internet much don't understand alot of the memes or general internet phrases I come out with.

Oh that's far too easy an answer. I humbly demand another, lest we shall duel.

How could you say "lol" in regular conversation? Its like repeating the word cry instead of actually crying. Everytime I hear someone say it I cringe violently.

I was giving a summary of a formal debate I was in, when I used the phrase "Enemy DEBATER used REBUTTAL!"

My sister mocked me about that for months.

When I noticed I started going to the electronic center of any store and looked at the games and when I had a subscription to Nintendo Power. I sized up the games too and started looking up what was crap and what was worth my time. After that it got worse and worse. Now I'm on here, I laugh at cake and have a Steam account. Oh yes and when I started to sing "Still Alive"

When I played Morrowind for the first time and I couldn't pull myself away from it. I swear if I could of stayed up as long as I wanted at the time, It would be a good 48 hours of non-stop Morrowind goodness.

When I started quoting the prayers of the Black Templars to people. Made me sound completely insane to anyone who didn't play 40K
Also standing in the middle of town and shouting blood for the blood god and talking about the science in the stargate universe

Well I am currently working on my civil engineering degree and one of the courses I had to take was a basic electrical/electronics course. One of the things lectured was the colour code for resistors. Last year after I finished the course I was bringing in some wine and saw near the cap a number of coloured bands. The first thing that came into my mind was what it's resistor value was.........

There have been several moments over the years, but the one that stands out most goes as follows:

I had stayed up very late on a 12-hour tabletop gaming marathon, without eating very much. After five hours of sleep, my alarm went off and I began hearing my activities as narrated by the GM. My first thought was, "I failed my get-out-of-bed check." Next line: "Using an action point."

Total geekdom achieved.

I once invented an imaginary fantasy where the Eldar sided with the Space Marines to prevent the Necrons entering the Sol System. It was a glorious space battle and it was an hour well spent.

I've also spent countless hours researching Stargate science and 40k lore. I think this makes us brothers. Care to partake in some Exterminatus?

It is a dream of mine to play Still Alive on Rockband with 3 of my friends. I already achieved my lesser dream of getting top score, at the time, with it in Audiosurf.
