Eh, how does one make calls with that? You have to hold the entire arm in front of your face to be heard.
Still wouldn't be as bad as the N-Gage though.

Too bad they don't make the good models, like the Pipboy 2000.

You can't drop a nuke on that thing and expect it to still work, so HA!

OT: I got to get me one of those. Maybe a laser rifle and some T-51b Power Armor to boot!

But you can drop 100s of nukes and have it still work.

LA and DC got the worst of the nukings.
You missed my point. Stanley in Vault 101 said you can drop a nuke on a 3000 series and it would probably still work, we have no clue how durable the 2000 series is outside of the wear and tear of Vault life. They 2000 series was never hit by a nuke, it was distributed in Vaults.

That is pretty amusing... I don't even play Fallout and this is impressive.

It survived through Fallout 1 & 2. If the 3000 series was so durable we would find more, but the only non player Pipboy found was on a psycho addict who found a vault 22 issued model. Even then, he admitted his pipboy didn't even work.
Wrong. The Doctor that revives you in Fallout: New Vegas give you his Pipboy 3000 at the very start of the game, saying that he used to live in a vault but that you could have better use for it ^^

Oh steam punk... I'll never understand you.
Hrm. Never thought of that, actually. Fallout is steampunk. Damn, now I have to rethink my standards in the Cyberpunk vs Steampunk war.

You missed the point. Fallout 3 was the first game to have the pipboy 3000. It was said to be durable, but if that was the case the wasteland would prove no problem for it. Instead there are no pipboys, while the only surviving one from Vault 22 was broken. The time between the opening of Vault 22 and Vault 21 shows that the durability of the pipboy 3000 was greatly exaggerated.

Surviving in a vault is one thing, but holding up to the wasteland is another. The pipboy 3000 has failed in surviving the wasteland.
We're lacking facts to back that up. How can you test the PiPboy 3000 for it's capacity to survive in the wasteland, if very few have been recovered, either broken or still functioning?
So far, we've only seen three. One broken, one that you had in Fallout 3, and one that you were given in Fallout: NV.
What of every other PiPboy 3000 for all the other vaults? Just because they haven't showed up in the wasteland doesn't prove that they are of poor quality to survive there. Maybe they just died with the people of the vaults, and haven't been found. Either buried in a collapsed vault, or buried in the desert sand of the wastes.
