This Vita hate train is getting ridiculous.

I'm mostly indifferent towards it. I won't ever get one because there is no way I'm paying that much for a handheld (especially when I can emulate almost everything on my phone anyway), but I don't see any real reason to hate it. Charging ludacris amounts for a glorified SD card is a bit ridiculous though.

I don't really hate the Vita, Its more like exited dissapointment. The tech is awesome its way more ergonomic that the 3DS which cuts into your palms but it really has few incentives over the cheaper 3DS plus the 3DS has a bigger library

I hate the Vita because it never really gets the good titles like Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Wii sports, Nintendogs, etc.
I don't know whether it has Angry Birds yet.
No reason to buy it.

I'd say the biggest reason the Vita is in trouble is one most people have already said: A lack of 'Must Own' games. The only game the Vita has that I would want is Persona 4 Golden, but I'm not going to shell out for a new handheld when I've already got Persona 4 on the PS2; yeah, there are new features in Golden, but not enough to warrant the costs. And there isn't really too much hype about upcoming games for the Vita that I'm aware of; the gaming sites I frequent have news stories about upcoming 3DS games, but not much about the Vita.

Compare that to the 3DS, which has Donkey Kong Country 3D coming out next week, Animal Crossing: New Leaf next month, along with stuff like Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Pokemon X & Y later this year, and A Link to the Past 2 or whatever they end up naming it. There's also Shin Megami Tensei IV coming out, and Ace Attorney 5 on the eShop in the fall.

Not to mention you get shafted by Sony on memory card prices, since they are proprietary tech used by Sony, while the 3DS can use any SD card, to my knowledge.

Portable gaming is a tough area to get into. Nintendo had it right with the Gameboy, as simple as it was and Sony just haven't had that step up that they needed. I doubt the Vita will bring home the gold for Sony, but we can always try to be optimistic. Now all we need is Microsoft to bring us the Xbox Portable and I can finally face palm so hard, Captain Picard would give me a standing ovation.

Because making a portable Xbox system is a more stupid idea than electing a coalition between the British National Party and UKip. Or, for those of you who have no idea who these organisations are: A Nazi and a Fascist.

I still don't understand.
Weren't the nazis and the fascists allied leading to WW2? They can find common bonds like the personality cult of the leader figure and being dictatorial.
I also doubt that many lost sheep of the BNP isn't voting UKIP now. They share their distaste for the EU immigration laws.

My two cents, is at the moment lack of decent games that are not ports from another system and the memory card prices. The only game I enjoy for my Vita is Persona 4: Golden and that is a port, and honestly you can't look at a system's worth in games with ports included (Honestly I don't can't remakes either). Neither 3DS and Vita is doing great if you ask me (and if anyone is wondering I do own both), and I think it's cause dev's are mostly playing it safe (more so on the Vita then the 3DS) and pushing port of a good game then a unique game.

*Facepalm*

I was simply using the BNP and UKip as an analogy for something completely stupid and backwards.
So, we come to the Xbox Portable, which isn't fascist or a Nazi, but a stupid idea.

When you first said that you would face palm at that, I knew you thought it was a stupid idea. I also knew that you were just using examples. Me commenting on your examples doesn't mean I didn't recognise them as an analogy.
The problem is that none of that answered my question, which is why you find a portable console from Microsoft a stupid idea.

You know...I really can't argue anything. I keep thinking how stupid an 'Xbox Portable' sounds, but really, that would be pretty sweet. I guess I'm just concerned it would be a flop. Then there's pricing, gadgets and other add on's that, for someone who hasn't played a handheld for over 4 years seem too expensive and just not worth buying when I can play my games on a screen that doesn't make me squint.
