Ok, I played Soldier, and these guys were a pain, I couldn't stab them, or melee their shields away, most of the time i had to go around them so my team mates could wack em from behind.

How are you dealing with them and what class are you playing as?

I found that with a sniper rifle I could headshot them through that little eye slit. Also if you have something like incerate or concussion shot, use it while aiming above the trooper. It will fly overhead then arc around to hit him in the back. Or just shoot his feet.

Easily, Get liara to drop a singularity on there arse and pick them off as they float around like rag dolls.

That's pretty much my solution for everything in ME1, and it looks like it's going to translate to 3, Oh Liara how I missed you!

I thought the Sniper Rifle wasn't in the demo. At least it wasn't for me.

Wait are we talking about single player or multiplayer?

Hitting them with a warp or a shockwave kicks their shields back. Maybe try a concussive shot for the same effect?

Oh, you're talking about Multiplayer aren't you? I didn't bother to try it out before I uninstalled the demo after how boring the singleplayer portion was.

Oh yeah, those guys. Well I have a feeling they're hardly gonna be the worst enemy in the game and hey Biotics solve everything. Or should I say Liara solves everything.

I have a feeling "Liara, fuck 'em up!" will be often said when I get my hands on ME3...

- You can take their shields away with biotic pull or singularity.
- You can flank them, or get a squadmate to do it.
- You can shoot them through the eye slit, or aim for whatever parts of them the shield doesn't cover.
- You can stagger them with push, shockwave, charge, carnage or concussive shot, then shoot them before they get their shield back in position.
- You can throw grenades behind or beside them.
- You can straight-up kill them with nova. (Yet another reason vanguards are awesome.)
- You can stun them with overload or engineer drones.

Just don't melee them. They will give precisely zero shits. Even hitting them with a Korgan charge in MP just gets you a shield-bash to the face. Well... unless your Krogan is berserk, because berserk Krogan apparently give even fewer shits.

I'm a MANguard so when playing online each time they have poped up it's been my job to knock the shield up. Shockwave, Nova and Charge all do the trick. Most of the time, there's some kind of glitch (?) where if they are attaking with the shield then they don't get knocked back. Makes me hesitate to use Nova on them, knowing it might do nothing but waste my shield.

You're missing out.
Also, downloadign a 2 gig demo and not trying out whats on offer? That seems like a bigger waste of time than trying things out.
Unless you need the space and lacked early access.

They should totally implement that as a voice command.

Although on the insanity difficulty it would have to be able to recognize, "Help! Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, Liara, hit that guy with lots of hitting things!" as a valid input.

How did you get a Sniper rifle? I played as Infiltrator, as I have since ME1, and I never got a sniper rifle. I felt horribly naked and insulted.

I personally have more trouble with the Centurion's myself, the fuggin shields combined with the impecable throwing accuracy with the grenades are a pain in the ass

My Throw + Phalanx all the things combo has yet to fail me in the multiplayer.

I have to say, I love the fact that everyone already has different tactics for handling the multiplayer. I think it speaks well of the feature that no one initially wanted.

I played the part that concerned me. I wanted to know if the Singleplayer would be worth it, as I have no interest whatsoever in the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Simple, in multiplayer play as engineer.

Overload, Incinerate, Combat Drone. Good for shield guys, Centurions, and Atlas mechs. Just don't get pinned down and avoid the assassins.

Also as one of the naysayers to multiplayer in ME3, I am incredibly surprised at how much I'm enjoying this.

I use the same tactic I do for any shield users in shooting games, aim for the feet. When they move their feet and lower legs are exposed (as long as you're not directly facing them). A few good shots and they will either back off or reveal even more to shoot.

Or even simpler, throw a grenade behind them. The biotic grenades in the single player are so much fun.

Multiplayer Infiltrator. Cloak, get behind them, headshot/omni-blade. Or snipe them through the eye socket or take an exposed arm/leg. They actually protect themselves really well compared to shield enemies in other games. It's actually kinda difficult to kill them if you don't have friends. I like that.

Halo Jackals have the stupidest shields known to man with since they offer no coverage whatsoever. RE4 shield enemies make their shields out of wood like idiots. One shotgun blast destroys it entirely.
