Those Cerberus Shield Troopers

Ok, I played Soldier, and these guys were a pain, I couldn't stab them, or melee their shields away, most of the time i had to go around them so my team mates could wack em from behind.

How are you dealing with them and what class are you playing as?

Incinerate Ammo. Just shoot right at the shield and watch their health go down regardless of the giant metal slab they're holding up.

Multiplayer Infiltrator. Cloak, get behind them, headshot/omni-blade. Or snipe them through the eye socket or take an exposed arm/leg. They actually protect themselves really well compared to shield enemies in other games. It's actually kinda difficult to kill them if you don't have friends. I like that.

Halo Jackals have the stupidest shields known to man with since they offer no coverage whatsoever. RE4 shield enemies make their shields out of wood like idiots. One shotgun blast destroys it entirely.

You know that later in the game they start using metal shields right?

On the topic of stupidest shield I feel it should go to the Boom Shield. You can't run well with it, it covers bugger all and the only thing it's good for stopping is the Boom Shot in the hands of a bad player. Good players will simply shoot the ground next to you and down/kill you with the explosion rather than try to hit you directly.

Engineer drone. Placed behind them. Boom. They're exposed.

hitting them with throw staggers them and leaves them open for attack. also for vanguard i would typically charge to an enemy behind them and if the shield guy follows me, usually there is someone to shoot them in the back, if they dont, then i get them from behind . The Carnage power sometimes works if you aim for their feet, splash damage i guess

I found that with a sniper rifle I could headshot them through that little eye slit. Also if you have something like incerate or concussion shot, use it while aiming above the trooper. It will fly overhead then arc around to hit him in the back. Or just shoot his feet.

I thought the Sniper Rifle wasn't in the demo. At least it wasn't for me.

Wait are we talking about single player or multiplayer?

I was talking about Single Player, but last night I spend a good 8 hours on Multiplayer..... and I hate Multiplayer FPS games in General, I was actually having lots of fun. at First I thought I would hate Multiplayer, but now im hooked!

Armor Piercing Ammo- I think soldiers get that- tears right through the shields even at rank 1. Had a level 1 upgrade on my Vanguard in MP, I wrecked shit that round.

I am playing the solder class and found that the easiest way to beat them is to either
A) Concussion shot the sheild and tear at them with your weapon while they are knocked off balance. Or
B) Throw a grenade that rolls under there legs (aim down so it rolls.) or throw it so it bounces off a wall behind them.

Not trying to be rude but its a Multiplayer TPS. Third Person Shooter. Maybe you are enjoying yourself so much because its co-op. I mean who hasn't thought at one point while playing ME that it would be fun to have a friend play along side you. I think if it was competitive MP I would hate it but its not so I don't.

On topic: What I do for those shields is I just waste them with the rifle, right at where they hold their gun or at their fight. It pushes them back to give me a chance to switch to sniper and get other exposed areas, like the top of their head or their feet.

Seeing as how I have been playing adept, they are no problem for me. Actually everything is rather easy as an adept.

This, most definitely. I found that after figuring out that little trick, it's a very easy way to take care of Guardians. Especially now that I almost exclusively play Infiltrator with a Widow and Mattock. Once you know that sweet spot, taking care of them is easy. It's just the Phantoms, Combat Engineer's Turrets, and Atlas that are the real problems.
