Yes I remember in year 8, so maybe 7 years ago having to do an assignment on roles in medieval society, due to the lack of internet at my school (or at least in the history/geography department), we had to use pretty crappy books from the library. Basically everyone ended up either writing about being a peasant or a knight. I wrote about being a professional or "master" archer, because my dad the history buff spoon fed me info.
Nowadays with wikipedia, one could easily write something about being a blacksmith, cobbler/cordwainer, baliff etc.
