So, yesterday I had another person tell me I have an English accent, the most recent in a long line of people telling me I have an English accent. What is the big deal, you may ask? I have an English accent too, and that is not weird! Well, let me tell you why it is weird, friend: I am not English. I have never been to England. I have lived in America my entire life. Neither of my parents are English; they are also American, born and bred. Same with their parents. I have no idea how I came to have this accent. What is especially weird is that my brother gets the same thing, but my sister does not.

So, this brings me to my ultimate question: what weird, unexplainable quirks do you have? Can you perfectly remember any poem you hear, but nothing else? Do you suffer from memory problems every day of the week except Tuesday? What is it for you?

I remember lots of trivial bullshit while forgetting things I'd very much like to remember.

For example, I finished a physics exam 7 hours ago. Question four was about electrons entering magnetic fields.
The electron in question entered a field of 0.35 microteslas at a speed of 3.5*10[sup]6[/sup] m/s, 90 degrees on the magnetic field, and entered a circular trajectory which had a radius of 57 meters if my calculations were correct.

Then the question moved on to regard an electron which entered a field of equal strength at 30 degrees instead of 90, prompting it to enter a corckscrew trajectory (the problem was about the aurora borealis).
I decomposed the speed into components of 3.03*10[sup]6[/sup] m/s in the x-direction and 1.75*10[sup]6[/sup] m/s in the y-direction.
I then calculated the radius of the corckscrew to be approx. 26 meters.

I'm certain I could recite more.

Meanwhile, during the exam it managed to slip my mind that induced ems was defined as the negative value of the derivative of magnetic flux, and I don't think I can remember the names of all my classmates.
[sub]Forgive me if my terminology is incorrect. I do my physics in Norwegian.[/sub]

I'm just an overall weird guy. I have OCD, which is probably one factor of that. I'm a bit clumsy and have piss-poor balance. I have a stutter too. I've been told that I'm quite intelligent and have a good vocabulary.

I have major personality shifts. like...really major ones. Possibly indicative of bipolar disorder, but I dunno.

I will go from something like 'Everything's so awesome! tralalalal! look at the pretty bird' to 'I hate my life' to 'I want to watch everything around me die screaming in a fire' in the space of an hour. It doesn't happen if I'm doing something, but if I'm ever alone with my thoughts unpleasant things start happening.

There are more stable individuals than I.

I hate certain metal cutlery. Anything with fancy engraving on it, or any kind of dirt or tarnish, or if the handle is too small and dainty, or if it's smooth, or I don't like the way it feels in my hand. I won't even touch it. Pure "bleh" response.

I also hate most/all piercings, for similar reasons. Metal + goop producing parts of the body = nope.

I cannot stand wet paper it grosses me out for some reason. My stomach just turns when people put it in there mouth. Really makes doing certain styles of art quite difficult.

Really now?! Well, record your voice and let's hear it... curious as to what kind of British (English) accent you have. Probably RP, but I'll be thoroughly amused if you have a Black Country accent.

I wouldn't call that trivial bullshit, per se, I'd call that bullshit with some gravity that is of little general use. 'Trivial' bullshit is knowing crap like the average off-road range of a Pzkpfw VI Tiger with a full tank of gas (68 miles).

OT: Constantly fiddling with and turning the two rings I wear on my left hand. And the near constant need I have for arm rests...

I have little natural skill at stuff, which can make trying new things really difficult, since it's frustrating to start out. However, I can learn stuff really well if I try at it. Musical instruments are tough, especially, which is pretty odd considering they're one of my big hobbies.
I also often slip into nodding my head in time with music, which can lead to me furiously shaking my head to get the sixteenth notes if I need to. Cue people giving me really funny looks if they don't know that I do this.

You're not Stewie Griffin, by any chance?

OT: Well, I'm a diagnosed sociopath. Interesting thing is as a kid, a piece of advice I was given by a friend a few years older than me whom I idolized was "it's always easier to fix other people's problems than your own". So I'm like this chaotic good, sometimes harsh, somewhat manipulative do-gooder.

Can't, unfortunately. Have no sound recording equipment. I only have what others tell me.

EDIT:

I think I am a bit too old (19), a bit too tall (6 foot 6 inches, to be precise), and a bit too nice to be him.

It's not trivia per se, but I'd certainly say the exact specifications of some random physics problem are trivial.

I do carry a lot of random trivia around in my head as well though. It doesn't really pop up unless something triggers it though.
Ummm... allegedly, one out of three people flush the toilet while sitting down.

*meh* Part of me was just kidding... though I am curious as to what regional accent you have (unless it's RP) 'cos I can imagine that if you did, your neighbours would look at you like an alien, it'd be so strange on the ears.

Y'know, I'm interested... even though I've never read the GN and still have the movie to watch... -_- Did you write that purely for your own enjoyment? As I tend to write reams of crap on random subjects (last one was a 25000 word challenge on Nothing is Impossible).

Random fun facts about Nasrin:

I put my hands in front of my mouth a lot, especially when I'm nervous or thinking hard.

I walk back to double check my door's lock almost every day.

Toothpaste makes me gag.

I'm so sorry! I accidentally posted that in the wrong thread, haha. I wrote that for a class in my last year of college. I still had one english credit to tie up, so I took a summer sci-fi/fantasy course. It was really great.

I put a lot of stuff into my mouth and chew it. Remote controllers and books. Anything really. Hate it when I realize I'm doing but it's like the natural thing I do when bored is to put something into my mouth.

Yeah, definitely true... though as a decidedly more biologically orientated scientist, of course I'm going to say that!

Still, I'd hazard a guess that most people around here carry an obscene amount of random trivia about quite a diverse range of topics, I'd imagine...

No need to apologise, it was an interesting read... while it was there!

So, a sociological dissemination of the broken heroes that are: the Watchmen... I'm tempted to do that to one of China Mieville's books! ¬_¬

I have the exact opposite thing - I'm British, but inexplicably talk in an American accent for no reason whatsoever - I don't watch enough tv to pick it up from there, and regionally I should sound more like a pirate than anything. The amount of people who ask me where I was born is beyond belief.

I hate clean bed rooms or desks they way most people (including myself) hate dirty bathrooms. All the lack of clutter brings on stress to keep it that way and just make me bored somehow.
