so if you have not heard. It was reported that 24 hours before Obama Visited Canada a Russian bomber was nearing Canadian airspace.

Clearly, the Russians can still afford bombers. But beyond that, there really isn't much to say. I mean, wouldn't the Russian government be a little more friendly to Obama, since it disliked Bush so much?

Well

It's not that they can afford bombers, just that they slap a fresh coat of paint on old ones and say, "HEY LOOK ANOTHER BOMBER THE TU-160 ... ERRR, TU-161!"

And the Russian government hates America period. Obama, Bush, Gleep ... no matter who is President, the Russians will devise a new way to hate them (while secretly working with them to keep the oil flowing!)

That's actually how we and Russia conduct meetings. They send over a Bear or three with a few diplomats, we scramble a couple CF-18's with Peter MacKay and a 2-4 of Molson, meet somewhere over the Arctic Circle, party, then go home.

It works well for us.

Seriously though, China, the US and Russia, amongst other countries are too financially dependent on each other to even consider an open war.

yeah but just the fact that a bomber is randomly by itself in the middle of international airspace alone is kinda... random.

its like driving your car through the countryside or w.e and looking off to your side to see a Chinese tank just randomly driving around off to the side of the road, going in no apparent direction.

I think this sort of thing happens more than its reported, all they did was fly into Canadian airspace maybe they were just wondering "hey whats going on there? why weren't we invited to the party?"
