Yep, it's Japan!

I REALLY loved the other games in the series, so I'm willing to give this one a go regardless.

Still, the whole 'school girl' fetish mystifies me.
It's strange but it's not uncommon. If certain types of porn count there is a fetish for school girls in the west, it's just not openly talked about. And I'm not talking about kiddie porn, but the "barely legal" variety that will have adult actresses dressed in a juvenile manner. Bonus points if the set looks like a teenaged girls room.

All in all I'd have to say it's pretty racist.

Why do white men think it's okay to objectify not only they're own women, but women of color as well? Can the white men developing this game not take women of other races serious enough to not make them whip out their boobies and butts? Sickening.

Last time I checked female primary sexual characteristics were contained internally and thus not prone to noticeable flopping(if it is, something has gone horribly wrong). So they must make do with breasts.

I think... that says more about your outlook on sexuality than anything else. I sincerely doubt they added jiggle physics to add to the horror atomsphere.
And again I was addressing sex appeal.

Gruff McGruff doesn't portray powerlessness, it portrays power. No I never said there was only two states on anything.

Can add to it yes.

That represents a poor choice of bra, if anything. Possibly content for a horror game, admittedly. An unconventional one, but certainly an original one.
I was addressing sex appeal not jiggle physics.
We really need a a Horror game which you control a Muscular man with a massive jiggle-physic D*ck go all over the place while you run.
This will make him look powerless.
And how do you make that mistake considering what you just quoted?

The one where even though information in your quotes clears up what I was referring to those who misunderstood, you still carried on with the jiggle physics thing anyway.

Fatal Frame was never lacking in pretty girls, and there was always the odd sexy costume unlocks, so I didn't pay much attention to the see-through [http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--WEAroxfP--/gq0r2mepb6bclh5ziyn4.jpg]? Er... realism, I guess. But for fuck's sake...

Did you really have to include DoA's jiggle physics, Tecmo? Taking four steps don't make breasts reverberate like that. Just because you had Team Ninja's resources lying around doesn't mean to have to use them.

It really puts me off how they have changed the feel of the game to appeal to a certain sect of the audience.
they aren't dead or alive extreme breast physics these are just breast physics guess what breasts aren't solid lumps of meat they move when you move and stop and jump. fair enough with doae those were just ridiculous levels of jiggle. but at least these are more realistic which is most likely what they went for with the addition. as for why sexy things are in a lot of games from japan it's a cultural thing called fanservice, it happens a lot in anime and Japanese games heck in many korean games too and i doubt it's going anywhere.

sexism is the hatred of men's and women's sexuality. heaven forbid people like to look at sexual material of the opposite or same sex, it's not like it's an unnatural and a social construct. i find it ironic that men don't complain about being sexualized in women's media, so why are women doing it? or why do some men think having sexualized content used in games is a lazy design choice to appeal to someones sexuality (which happens in women's media too)honestly i say we need more than just realistic jiggle physics before we actually complain about it and i for one wish more games had realistic jiggle physics for realism sake as a mtf transexual it helps with immersion when playing a female character.

The sexualization of the characters is actually something that's been around in the games since the start, so I'm not sure it's changing the feel of the game for the sake of appealing to an audience it didn't have.

Those jiggle physics definitely aren't DOA levels. DOA jiggle you don't have to look for, it's so unnatural and exaggerated that it draws attention to itself. This bounce, though unnatural because of how much of a snap back it is, is subtle enough that I wouldn't know it was there if I wasn't actively looking for it.

I can't even imagine how you'd react to all the creepy incest stuff which is as much a series trademark as the ghost camera. It's definitely odd though considering this is the player character, the person you're supposed to identify with and I don't think you're meant to feel objectified as they are. You're meant to feel weak in these situations, even in the third (or maybe it was fourth) game where you have times playing a middle aged man, but not like an object of desire.

This has to be just lazy trolling, right? Or am I witnessing Poe's law?

Anyway, white men being behind all this creepy fanservice is quite the accomplishment considering no white man whatsoever is on the Japanese development team of this Japanese game that hasn't been released outside of Japan. And just in case there's any confusion, Japanese people aren't white. That's pretty prejudiced to assume anything resembling sexism can only be committed by white men.

This isnt even made to pander to us, its made for the same audience that has those anime pillows, as far as I know the game isnt coming out in the west.

So yeah, I dont care much as it barely has anything to do with me.

There was jiggle in the Resident Evil remake and that was hell of scary. Jill's tit's bouncing as she ran really added to the tension and were totally realistic and justified. Because whenever I see joggers their tits are always dancing around like it's a rave. They never wear bras or have their hoo-hoo's supported by clothes Because breasts behave like that in reality. And as a man who supports the trans and feminist agenda. I believe that this is socially important.

Ok, piss taking aside. I agree with the poster who said that it takes away from the horror atmosphere. As a person who has seen a boob and appreciates the beauty of real honest to goodness breasts in all shapes and sizes. I find it childish and utterly insulting. It's insulting because it's assuming that a pair of plastic tits will arouse me. All this talk of fan service doesn't hold any water of me. That's just a different name for the same thing. Give me a good game and you can even give me a sexy protagonist. But don't jam fake tits in my face.

But of course the Muscular Man will be Sexy as f*ck.
Like in the Anime "Free!".
Plus the jiggle physics is extra.
And of course I did that for satire reasons. No real problem. I don't if a character is sexy......most of the times.

The jiggle physics? Oh, come on! At least not in a serious game. In a completely not going to touch the sexism of it(because it's a bit obvious) I'll focus on the tone. How the fuck would this add to the tone of the game? So when she gets startled first she jumps then her breasts bounce a half a dozen times? The only way I can see it working is if they pull a Spec Ops. First you need to establish the trope(senseless fanservice) before you tear it in half cackling like a mad man.

That did make me think that the male equivalent of this is floppy dong physics and we've only had that once in an extremely silly game, Mount your Friends. If there are more examples, please keep them to yourself.
That's not equivalent at all. Breasts are a secondary sexual characteristic, penis is primary. It would be something like flowing beard physics.
That distinction is biological, not cultural.
The society doesn't treat beards and female breasts the same way.

Or are you seriously claiming that a man with a beautiful beard and a woman with beautiful breasts can show them off (for example not cover them when walking down a street) and will be treated the same way?

I know everyone on this site turns into a puritan as soon as things like jiggle physics and boobs are mentioned but COME ON! The boobs those physics are acting on aren't exactly melons, and you won't be seeing the perky bounce bit at the end ever anyway, as you will be viewing the character model from behind. Unless you intend to play the game seeing only where you've been and not where you are going.

If she had arse bounce physics when she stopped or farted or something, then maybe that would've have been going too far.

I dont think you are taking bewb physics seriously :) they need to be 100% accurate to real life regardless of whether the game is or not. Also the way her legs are uncovered is absolutely scandalous.

To be honest though if it was me in her situation I would probably be doing more than farting if you know what I mean. Most people also wont see anything of this game outside Japan anyway at least at the moment as I dont think it is being localised atm.

Survival Horror series where you are attacked by ghosts and can only defeat them by usage of an old camera. You usually play as women as in story men have really crappy base spiritual stats if I'm remembering Fatal Frame 3 correctly.

Beware of what you wish for...

<youtube=8nZ0kAs1eq0>

At least that uncanny nightmare was cordoned off to bonus costumes in FF4.

I bet someone's gonna come up and go "Nu-uh! That's realistic too!"
