I've been laughing with friends about how some anime shows like to take something mundane (Card games, bread baking, majong) and then create a setting where it is the most important thing in the world. I challenged the other escapists to come up with ideas of their own and possible throw in some cheesy lines they made up. I don't think I got a single comment.

I made one asking why people group all reality TV in the same category, as I think The Amazing Race is a very good show and that Survivor can be fun to watch.
But I made one comment along the lines of "I'm obviously smarter than you because I don't watch Family Guy" which was obviously not meant seriously and the only replies to the thread were about how I'm such a dick for saying that. Sure, sarcasm doesn't translate well on the internet. But sometimes you just have to let common sense step in.

For reviews to get good replies, you need to strike up a small fan-club that follows your reviews. Or just look at what Marter does andJedamethis said:

OT: A few of my threads have failed horribly. The subjects of those that failed are karma, J-Pop, football players being over-paid, numerous reviews and many more. That said, I have had a few successful threads as well so it's not too bad. Balances out nicely.
But I'm far too lazy to actually play a game/watch a movie/read a book to review it, I just find something in my bedroom, and spend 5 minutes writing about how I could totally bludgeon someone to death with it.Sassafrass said:
