Morrowind, simply because it was the game that i spent the most time on. Most games i play for a month and then i get bored, i played Morrowind for years and i was still finding new stuff. Bur Rome Total War and KOTOR get honorable mentions (Warcraft 3 would get one two but I've really played that game to the core and i'm getting bored with it).

Baldur's Gate 2. The only thing that might come close to it is if Dragon Age lives up to the hype, but beyond that, I'm fairly certain that BG2 is as good as it got this decade.

So far, I'd put The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as my Game of the Decade. Uncharted 2 is my game of this year so far, but Modern Warfare 2 might very well snag that one - though I doubt it'll have anything on Oblivion. Only Fallout 3 and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (with the Armageddons Blade expansion pack) could ever compare to it in my book.

FFX or Portal.

Biggest disappointment of the decade... The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Only because the guy at the store told me I'd adore it, since I like RPGs... I just can't get into it.

Half Life 2.While to some that's debatable, if the orange box were to be included there would be no contest,it'll be like a free for all match of 11 humans and a tyrranasaurs rex.No one would watch to see who would win they would watch to see blood.

Maybe we should just organized these into genres.
Like...
Best RPG of the decade, best shooter of the decade, and so on. Would be much more easier.

Morrowind... Oh so many hours spent on that awesome magical island... (Ok, so the island's actually called Vvardenfell, stop badgering me!)

And what year was KotOR? Because that was way awesome as well.

GTA: Vice City? San Andreas?

Max Payne?

The Source[sup]TM[/sup] engine?

Screw this, too many to name ONE top game.
I would definately say San Andreas deserves a mention. It was just way too fun to not be on that list.

Mount&Blade, hands down. I've had hours of fun with that game, even more fun than I had during my larger amount of hours in Oblivion. This is really just the last 5 years though, I'm not in the habit of remembering how much I enjoyed something that was released over 9 years ago. (Age of Empires II was kickass though, and the expansion technically lets it qualify)

Year-by-year, I'd have to say...
2000 - Final Fantasy IX
2001 - Halo: Combat Evolved (not so much the game itself, but the experiences I had with it and my friends, I wouldn't own consoles if it wasn't for Halo)
2002 - Morrowind
2003 - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
2004 - Sacred
2005 - X3: Reunion
2006 - Oblivion
2007 - Making History: The Calm & The Storm
2008 - Mount&Blade
2009 - So far, Pokémon HeartGold (What? It was released in 2009...[small]in Japan[/small])

My list:

2000: Mario Party 3
2001: GTA 3
2002: GTA Vice City
2003: SOCOM 2 US Navy Seals
2004: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2
2005: Gun
2006: Elder Scrolls 4-Oblivion
2007: Mass Effect * Honorable mention Bioshock
2008: Fallout 3 * Honorable mention Civilization Revolution
2009: Batman- Arkham Asyslum * not definite until 2010

GAME OF THE DECADE: Oblivion * Honorable mentions to Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic 2.

This list is based on multiple factors, including Fun while playing, The platform I had access to, I actually played the game, and Amount of time I played.

Games that I did not play, or did not have access to, did not make the list.

Also, it is important to note, that my video game experience was extremely limited until 2005, and I am not including multiplayer as part of the criteria.
