The Myst Series:
1) Rand Miller (Not his writing or game design; his acting.)
2) Music-based puzzles (I had to have the game give me the full answer to a certain one Revelation on account of not being able to hear the differences in tones properly)
3) The retcon of prison ages.

Mass Effect:
1-Any of the vehicle sections; Mako, Hammerhead or the car in the shadow broker DLC.
2-The lack of variety in any side missions, same cave design, same bunkers, same ships.
3-Adept (my favourite class) is pretty much useless and the harder difficulties in 2 and 3. Everything has shields or armour that make the majority of your attacks useless.

Elder Scrolls:
1-Once you've played it all, it's just boring from then on.
2-Magic is pretty hard to use in Skyrim, too little mana and the spell system means that you frequently get tuck between an extremely low powered spell or one that takes half of your mana.
3- Generally uninteresting characters

Bans on certain Legends in competition
This kind of makes no sense to me. If Game Freak doesn't want you to use certain Pokémon competitively, then why even bother including them in the game? Common sense tells me that if one person from a certain region can get this Pokémon then so can another. As such, since both have the potential to have it, there's no need to limit the use of it on that basis. This rule just unnecessarily limits teambuilding choices.
Because singleplayer and multiplayer balancing are different.

The Legends are disigned to be OP in singleplayer, to reward the effort of capturing them.

In multiplayer, there needs to be ban lists and tiering to promote fairplay and team diversity.
If there were no rules on what could be used, then everyone would be using Arceus and mewtwo, which would break the game and make it really fucking boring at the same time.

Final Fantasy series

When they do this

I know that the Final Fantasy games are made in Japan, but it's still super weird when characters randomly become Japanese in cutscenes.

Company Of Heroes: The path finding... Oh god the atrocity. Nothing is more frustrating than watch your tanks being stuck because your retreating infantry decided to run right towards it leading to an almost endless series of your units "bouncing" at each other while not getting an inch further. And this is obviously always followed by enemy artillery destroying your spastic army. CoH2 would have already been a great improvement if it merely fixed the path finding

Command And Conquer: I hate how it went down the crapper after Westwood went down.

- Sonic The Hedgehog
Critics and the Gaming Press still hate this series. Last decade was not kind to the poor hedgehog at all, starting out with him being booted off his own system as Sega had to repurpose itself as a Third-Party Company to his games steadily becoming worse and worse with their development schedules becoming increasingly unfair and the games themselves to be losing the polish their predecessors had. But if there is one thing I hate the most about this series, its the fact that, thanks to almost an entire decade of failure to impress with good games, and the explosion of the unruly Sonic fanbase, the poor hedgehog will no longer be taken seriously by the press ever again.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 This game is a travesty in all and every account. It's development mystifies me to this day, seeing as this game was clearly not ready for release, yet Sega kicked it out feeling certain it will make oney, their reputation be damned. Nowadays, it's a 6 year old game none of us will forget, even though it is no longer canon for crying out loud. I want to forget this horrible game even exists. So please... let it die.
Mediocre Supporting Cast. Know why most of the supporting cast is annoying? Most of them are relatively useless and one-dimensional. This could easily be alleviated by either not including them, or giving them more than one annoying trait since the writers dont know what else to do with them!

I have too many series that I consider my favorites to bother with so I think I will just go with one for now.

The Legend of Zelda:
1. The ridiculous timeline. Regardless of whatever the asinine official word is, in my mind each game is in it's own separate continuity unless expressly stated in game or in the manual such as The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link (there are a couple more.)
2.The fact that the third Oracle game was scrapped.
3.The face on the moon in Majora's Mask. I know this is a small detail but I always thought it was retarded.

Sonic series
1. Pretty much all of Sonic '06 (the music was still awesome though)
2. The infamous "fans" of the series that argue about absolutely anything
3. The ridiculous amount of fanart (ranging from the bad to the downright disgusting) that people make. Here's a fun game, search your first name with "The Hedgehog" added and see what the first image is!

It definitely isn't one of the worst.
I actually gave that game a try. Here's what I got: http://xed0rian.deviantart.com/art/Prince-Noah-the-hedgehog-169681605

Not bad.

OT: Pokemon

1: The two version bullshit. There are already so many Pokemon that it's a ridiculous effort to try to catch them all, so why put up a version barrier?
2: Quit letting people ask for impossible trades on the GTS (Things like a level 1 Mewtwo, etc.). It would really help to filter out the ridiculous trades so people can find reasonable trades with strangers.
3: Not so much a complaint as it is a wish, but I'd like a full 3D Pokemon game akin to Colosseum and Gale of Darkness where you can catch Pokemon through normal means, and collect badges.

Final Fantasy

1) Tetsyua Nomura
Has gone completely off the deep end with his character designs. Used to be cool, until he became infatuated with Gackt.

2) Nobuo Uematsu
Left Squenix. Filthy traitor.

3) Motomu Toriyama
Wrote all of Midgar in Final Fantasy VII...then went on to direct Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2. What happened to you, man?!

Honorable mention: Hiroyuki Ito
Went from Final Fantasy VI and IX to Final Fantasy XII. He lost the magic.

The Souls Series (Dark/Demons Souls):
-The backstabbing can be so broken at times
-When ever the game gets easy, I can almost feel like when they were working on the game and the director Hidetaka Miyazaki (the guy responsible for some of the most unforgiving sections of the games) went out on a bathroom break or something, the designers used that time to make it easy. No. Me no likey easy!
-The consideration of an easy mode in the next game. Haha no.

Meta Gear Solid:
-Peace Walker expects me to have other friends who own the game and a psp. RIP dream to use the epic coop weapons.
-MGS2 and 4's strange lack of gameplay. Also why do I need a machine gun that will effect my game's end score when I have the almighty tranq gun of OP?!
-The hate Metal Gear Rising is getting. Rename it Metal Gear Spinoff so you can shut people up please.

Batman (in general):
-Please stop, no more Batman.
-No one realizes that the universe the Arkham game series takes place in is not only a combo of both the Nolan and Animated universe, but atmospherically its the best universe.
-Batman character wise after several decades now is still boring.

Devil May Cry:
-DMC 2
-Ninja Theory's lack of respect for the original DMC fanbase, the source material, and the fact that the director is an immature idiot who talks out of his ass every interview he has been in since the games announcement.
-DMC 3 mocked by the new DMC crowd. Fun fact: They've most likely never played DMC3 and the new DMC isn't even out yet, so forming an official opinion is invalid.

Since I cant think of a favorite series, I would go with one I really like:

Left 4 dead:

Cheating AI (specials clawing you when you bashed them first, for one. Also zombies acting weird and apparently "skipping" animations so they attack faster than the should. The fact than when they hit you they make you go slower, that makes sence when they come in front of you, from behind, thougt, it makes no sence AT ALL)
Hitboxes (Hunter hitboxes... I mean cmon. Also, its not the only hitbox that is badly designed, that one is just the easiest to identify)
And... Um... Well, I guess there could be some sort of actual story? But really I am actually fine with how it is now. I just put this here because my co op buddies always complained about the story (or lack of thereof).

EDIT: Oh yeah I got an actual 3rd point. How about the whole left 4 dead 2 game. Its not bad, but I prefer the original BY MILES.

I feel like I missed something... but those 3 points cover it well. Even then left 4 dead is great, very good game.

Mass Effect

Outside of the ending for 3, it's:

- Many of your choices/actions don't carry over (such as turning Kaidan into a xenophobe)
- 2 and 3 feel a bit rushed
- All the DLC because I can't afford it, they take up a lot of storage space, and VISORS!!

I was going to do Armored Core, but really most of the problems I have are with ACV, which is really different from any of its predecessors. Then I was going to do Monster Hunter, but the things I dislike tend to be fairly petty (customisation options, one-dimensional characters, no meaningful story, some weapons are a bit samey and there isn't a good weapon for each element and status affliction) and the only thing I really, vehemently hate about it is that it's with fucking Nintendo at the moment and I can't play it.

So in the end...no, I don't really hate 3 things about my favourite series. I'd have a whole list for the latest game of my favourite series (including region locking, territory boosting, stability affecting fire rate, part balance, voice acting, lack of Arena mode, poor dialogue, reuses enemy and part models a lot rather than creating new enemies/parts, small player base in EU, simplified stats and paint options, 50 mech garage cap, 'ineffective' defence threshold mechanic), but both Armored Core and Monster Hunter have core gameplay that I adore and with a few exceptions I will overlook anything in its favour.

Tales of. By far my favourite series, but picking out three things I hate is easy.

1: Few games hit Europe.
2: Late releases in Europe.
3: They take ages to announce if a game is coming to Europe or not leaving us hoping to get a game, then only finding out when the next Tales of game is coming out that we're probably not getting it.

Yeah, the games are great and I don't really have any complaints about them by themselves.

Or, a PS3 and a massive long Ethernet cable. I found a few people (have to say though, this was over a year ago, there's probably absolutely no-one now playing anything) on whatever the online thing for PS3 was that were willing to engage in a bit of team weaponage.

I think that's a general RTS issue, since the same thing happens in all 3 Age of Empires games that I've spent anything close to a decent amount of time playing.

If this is about the pathfinding, you do not understand the pain involved with moving multiple vehicles.
Trying to get tanks across bridges is an exercise in patience itself.
for reference, here is something the computer did.

The fact that everyone abbreviates the entire series to "DmC." It's DMC people, Ninja Theory just decided to call theirs that because apparently it's cool to use bad grammar.
