While they work for the most part, I've noticed there's a few places, mostly in minigames, where rebinding your controls can cause the game to not read them properly. And since I'm pretty sure it defaults to Circle to select and X to cancel like a lot of games on the Playstation did until they got flipped around outside Japan, if you're used enough to it being the other way around that you go to rebind them... well, enjoy the Junon parade. Is a sentence nobody has ever said in history.

Didn't know about that first part though. Wonder if that works in any other Final Fantasy games.
Yeah, but the minigames do explicitly state the controls most of the time. And I don't think I've ever done well in the first part of the Junon parade no matter whether I've rebound the controls or not.

The problem's that when the control pop-ups do appear, they're based on the default controls without taking your rebinds into account, at least in the original PS1 version. I don't know if they changed that in any later ports.

I'm playing the PS1 version, I don't know, the controls seem accurate as they are stated. I haven't noticed them being wrong.

In the remake of Silent Hill 2, during the boss fight against Eddie, the game shows James's extreme tension by having the aiming reticle not close in all the way, and wobble about. It won't noticeably affect your accuracy, and you should have enough bullets to survive the fight anyway, but being unable to aim perfectly shows how worked up James is about this specific situation.

At the end of Halo Reach, one of the last cutscene is inside Pillar of Autumn's cargo hold, and tilting the camera reveals Master Chief in cryo, ready to start Halo CE

Yes, the location of where he actually wask up at the beginning of Halo CE isn't exactly where the camera is at the moment, and this is more of easter egg that players need to figure out, but I think it was very cool and impressive for Bungie to have it in there.

Now only if 343i (oh i'm sorry; "Halo" studio), is half as dedicated as Bungie used to be..... Which the same can be said about current state of Bungie

Yeah, Reach was basically the last gasp of Halo's relevance. It would have been a perfect note to go out on had it not been for execs who were seeing dollar signs drifting away without "MOAR HALO!!!" Unpopular opinion, but Halo 4 and The Master Chief Collection gave me hope that 343 (or whatever they want to be called) understood the assignment, but Halo 5 was a massive shit right in my mouth, so much so, that I haven't even played Halo Infinite, still don't want to on principle alone, and I truly don't care where they take the franchi$e next. This has been the closet thing to a divorce since my actual divorce.

Sorry, on topic, yes, Reach leaving off where Combat Evolved began was a *chef's kiss* detail that I would argue is neither tiny nor insignificant; pick another thread for this kind of dismissive nonsense. (kidding, of course.)

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I love when a game lets you know when your about to hit a "point of no return". Like in everspace 2, it tells you before you enter a big mission where you will be locked into doing mission stuff till its over. FF7 remake and rebirth were also both pretty good about letting you know when you wanted to make sure you did everything before going forward also.
