Titanfall. My dilema.

Ok so we all know by now that Titanfall looks kind of awesome. I mean theoretically it looks awesome. Right? So the quandary that I've run into is all in regards to the Xbox ONE. We all know the PR nightmare they created and the very anti consumer (for a console maker) features they were putting into the thing which they then promptly revoked. So here's where I am at. I still really despise that whole mess that Microsoft made and vehemently opposed the Xbox ONE.

Now with Titanfall the game looks interesting. Sure it takes more then a few notes from Halo and the graphics being used are sort of the tired realistic sci fi style that Halo 3 used. However a good portion of the game is seeming to be built around those kind of awesome mechs. So this is something I propose to you my escapist buddies. Especially those who have actually ordered or intend to get and Xbox ONE.

Should I just break down and get the system for Titanfall because it is that kind of system seller that Kingdom Hearts always was for me. The only thing preventing me from doing it right now is the extreme amount of hatred from the launch announcements. So should I just let go and get it? I know this is stupid and all but I just wanted to hear some other people's opinions who are getting it or who may have changed their minds to actually buying it.

Titanfall is the only game I've seen that I want on the XB1. So many other great titles that are cross or PS4 I'll wait, if it sells boatloads it'll end up ported later on anyways.

I would highly encourage you to connect with a friend that will purchase the game and console and play there. Should you enjoy it, then buy the console yourself.

It's not a mortal sin to buy an Xbox One, if you want it, then get it.

Companies make bad decisions, it's a fact of life. Personally, I'm not the kind of person that injects any sort of genetic fallacy into the reasoning that revolves around product purchases.

I don't care if Sony eats babies, or McDonalds uses slave labor. I like PlayStations and milkshakes.

Yeah Titanfall looks great. I'm glad it's coming to PC though because I'm still not keen on getting an Xbox One.

Well I know its a PC game as well. When they say exclusive its pretty much under the assumed banner that people only talk about the consoles because lets be fair. PC people just go off and do their own thing 90% of the time a part from the main gaming consoles.

I would not get the Xbox One just for one single game. Like it's been mentioned, Titanfall also comes out on the PC and the Xbox 360, and if you don't have an xbox 360, it'll be half the price of getting an xbox one.

Not to mention, you could just get Killzone 3 or 4, which is pretty much titanfall without the parkour (at least from how much I've seen of Titanfall so far), plus Killzone 3 is free on the PS3.

If you're going to get a console for a single game just get a 360, its cheaper and it can also run Titanfall as well.

Boom, no spending $500+ on a console for a single game and you still get to play the game you wanted.

I think I will stick to PC gaming for the long haul and will save some cash for Titanfall if I will skip buying BF4 or CoD Ghosts.

About time I should give to another multiplayer shooter a chance rather than play same old rehashed bs.

Well I would get it on PC as others have already said. I had to ask myself whether I would get an Xbox One as it has the only next gen game I am even mildly interested in atm Killer Instinct. But I have decided not to simply for a few reasons KI is as yet unproven and to be fair pretty light on content out of the gate so they need to flesh it out a bit for me.

More of an issue for me is the ridiculous price of the Xbox One its like the PS3 fiasco all over again only this time I have to worry about them pushing their agenda when people have already bought the damn thing, oh and ofc theres the online charge as usual (which has been so successful it seems Sony can hop aboard this BS and not get any criticism).

Once the console drops in price by 100 pounds at least I may get it and hopefully KI is in better shape then (and still played) because I still dont trust Mocrosoft to stop support for the game if it dosent meet expectations yeah about those season updates they aint gonna happen sales werent there (hope they dont do this).

I will just get the PS4 and WiiU instead when ofc they release some games I want. Personally I am hoping both consoles sell terribly and get an immediate price cut I dont see that happening with the PS4 to many people I know who I wouldnt even consider gamers have already pre-ordered one for some bizzare reason but hopefully it will happen with the Xbox One and then I can get a good deal.

Obviously Microsoft's PR wasn't a complete disaster since so many people don't even realize that Titanfall is not a console exclusive. Get it on PC if you want it. It's a Source game, which means that it can probably run on a toaster.

Respawn have been leaving pretty heavy hints that Titanfall will only be a timed exclusive on the X1. So it'll probably be on the PS4 within 3-6 months of launch.

Well my thought is have to discussed Titanfall with your friends (offline and online) to see what they will be playing it on? If not thats where I would start. Games like these are best played with friends who can communicate and work well together. If you dont have any friends to play with well honestly I suggest getting a PC for it if you dont already have one. That way you can build a machine thats customized to what you need and you can play the game how you like. As an added bonus you'll get a much wider variety of games as well (many of them free to play)

As far as the XB1 goes...I mean lets be honest here, Microsoft said they were reversing their anti-consumer policies but have any of us seen an evidence of that? I havnt. Until I see how this console works Im going to assume its shipping as they originally said it was because you dont make massive hardware and software changes like that easily. It may just be my conspiranoia but part of me wonders if they just flat out lied so people would buy it without knowing all that anti-consumer nonsense is still in place.

That's a given. All exclusive titles are timed unless Microsoft actually owns the IP. No one in their right mind would agree to give their game (and a highly anticipated FPS) to one company. Especially not after seeing how many people actually prefer the PS4.

Yeah, I agree with this. It's not a new thing either. It has been announced for PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

It's not a timed exclusive either. It's getting a release on a different platform at the same bloody time. I don't get that logic.

Please keep in mind that this is a F2P title by EA. I would never buy this game early regardless of buying in on XBO or PC. EA is great at ruining games like this to the tune of nickles and dimes.

I'd love to give titanfall a try. BUT, good as it looks its not worth paying $100 more for a console. Also its an online ONLY game. And however good the game itself maybe there is no way to prevent the player base from ruining it. And since they are clearly targeting the CoD crowd I definitely bet on the players as a negative. Personally I'm crossing my fingers that the 360 version is acceptable or that it ends up coming to the ps4 at some point. Otherwise I'll probably just miss it all together. Online games aren't like single player. I cannot just pick them up several years down the line and catch up to the current title.
