Ok so we all know by now that Titanfall looks kind of awesome. I mean theoretically it looks awesome. Right? So the quandary that I've run into is all in regards to the Xbox ONE. We all know the PR nightmare they created and the very anti consumer (for a console maker) features they were putting into the thing which they then promptly revoked. So here's where I am at. I still really despise that whole mess that Microsoft made and vehemently opposed the Xbox ONE.

Now with Titanfall the game looks interesting. Sure it takes more then a few notes from Halo and the graphics being used are sort of the tired realistic sci fi style that Halo 3 used. However a good portion of the game is seeming to be built around those kind of awesome mechs. So this is something I propose to you my escapist buddies. Especially those who have actually ordered or intend to get and Xbox ONE.

Should I just break down and get the system for Titanfall because it is that kind of system seller that Kingdom Hearts always was for me. The only thing preventing me from doing it right now is the extreme amount of hatred from the launch announcements. So should I just let go and get it? I know this is stupid and all but I just wanted to hear some other people's opinions who are getting it or who may have changed their minds to actually buying it.
I think'd be a bad Idea to buy a console for just one game but if you A. have several friends who plan to get the system then you can weigh your odds with that B. Try to find a few stores with Demo Consoles to try (may be a while after launch.)
and/or C. wait for reviews of Titanfall to see if it holds up to the hype. I got burned a bit on Resident E:RC

When I got my PS3 I wanted it on launch but I was 36th out of 35 consoles available I didn't really care for any launch titles but the future looked bright for me (and it was.) so what you could do (I don't know TFs launch date) is wait until the game releases and then consider if the game/system is worth it because if the system isn't well received then any online heavy game on the system won't hold up very well.

Why does everyone say that it's Xbone exclusive? It's gonna be on PC!

But despite all this, I still think it looks pretty bad so it was never a system draw for me.
If my youtube was working right now I'd find an older commercial where there are two versions one for everything it has and 360's "(Only on/on) Xbox 360" where they edit out the end part the would say it's on PS3 and/or PC. They even did that at E3 this year for Titanfall. When they went first several games were only announced to be on Xbox One with zero mention of other consoles or PC.

Because Microsoft are aggressively marketing it for Xbone and pretending as hard as possible that there is no 360 or PC version. They're going to shit bricks when EA gets round to announcing a PS4 version, which they surely will not long after release.

Until then, every single damn advert is going to have TITANFALL FOR XBONE written on it.

It astounds me everytime when someone says he wants to drop +500 bucks to buy a machine to play a game on it. If that's not the height of consumerism i don't know what is.

I wouldn't recommend to buy a console for just a game. Nope.

Exclusive or not doesn't matter.

I dunno, MS has removed most of the things I had an issue with for the X1. I think at this point most of the hate is just the same self sustaining "MS is evil" rhetoric that has been going on since the 90s. If they came out today and said the X1 has a free blowjob attachment, someone would complain that MS was saying that they couldn't get a real beej. Crass, I know. But I've seen pretty innocuous comments from MS followed by hundreds of irate comments.

If you were honestly that opposed to the thing, you wouldn't be seriously considering getting it for any reason. Let alone for one game that has a PC release as well. If you were truly that offended, the very idea would offend you further. So what it sounds like to me is you want to be excited and just hope someone will validate your decision. I don't mean offense here, that's just what I took from the original post. I could be way off base and it's always dangerous to play armchair psychologist anyway so maybe I should just keep it to myself.

Bottom line, if you want Titan Fall on the X1, get it. Don't let the honking of Sony fanboys or MS haters dictate your decisions. Even if I'm way off base in my assumptions, you still only need to make yourself happy. But Titan Fall will be out for the PC as well and it'll probably eventually make it's way onto other consoles. Patience is a virtue. If the game is good, there will be people playing it for a good long while.

Personally, I'm getting both new systems. The big issues with MS have been resolved. As far as I'm concerned, it's all about the games at this point. And if you want enough games on any system, get it. If it doesn't have software that you want, then don't. It's really pretty simple.

Obviously Microsoft's PR wasn't a complete disaster since so many people don't even realize that Titanfall is not a console exclusive. Get it on PC if you want it. It's a Source game, which means that it can probably run on a toaster.
Yeah man, it s been an utter chore upgrading my microwave, but it s worth it.

I don't care if Sony eats babies, or McDonalds uses slave labor. I like PlayStations and milkshakes.
...then why do you like McDonalds? Those abominations they serve are NOT milkshakes! :p

OT: I'm just glad the game is coming out on PC too. Love me some KB+M for shooters.

Myself, I'm probably not going to get any hardware from this up and coming generation for at least another two years, when I get out of Uni, at which point I'll likely be more inclined to get a Steam Box than anything Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo are offering, which I guess means I'll be able to play the PC version of Titanfall on that if I so desire (if I haven't already got it for my 360 in the mean-time.)

Wow , and i thought I was a terrible person.

OT: It's being released on PC. Dilemma over .

[small] Off topic: I seriously hope Microsoft decides to shaft Xbone buyers after they buy it . That'll teach em to be responsible consumers.[/small]
