Why am I only hearing this now? This feature is actually a potential seller for many. I would actually show a part of it in action by now, let alone mentioning it so recently.
I have to agree a bit here. I myself am already pretty much sold on this game, but considering the amount of hype they have already generated, I don't see why they waited until just a month before release to announce this. I mean, it's pretty much just icing on the cake for me, but it could full well sell the game outright for others.

This actually makes me a lot more interested in the game than I was before.

It's the Pacific Rim game I wanted!
Exactly my thoughts.

It might add a layer of randomness that some people might not want in competitive matches... but screw balance and logic - where's the button that allows me to drop a fricken kaiju into the arena to screw over everyone?

Who the hell decided to NOT make this a more central point of the game?

"Yeah, I guess we can have giant monsters of terrible description whose giant visage renders the player miniscule, giving an overwhelming awe at the scope of the universe, but lets keep the focus on shooting dudes. That sounds more interesting."

It's called 'not compromising' its a lost art and an almost unheard of trait in the modern gamer, so I shall explain.

In short it means in this case, I will not do a 'thing' period, that 'thing' being give EA money, or more money then I have already, due to not approving of the shady business practices they do that we know about and that I simple don't trust them enough to allow any soft where made by them that peaks at my system and have them not abuse the information in some way.

and if that means I have to miss out on a game or two I might like, so be it.

And if you are using Steam it's called being a big hypocrite.
Look at the latest Steam controversy, not a week past. And it's just one of many, certainly nowhere worst [http://store.steampowered.com/news/6761/]that happened on it, on a platform that had years to develop.

I feel Gabe could go try and exterminate the Jews and people would still praise him like some kind of gaming messiah and worship him and his platform cause they can do no wrong.

Amusing as it is when some one brings up Values failings, and they have been fucking up a bit more of late.

None of that really changes the fact that I wouldn't trust EA with a roll of toilet paper. Cause despite the Steam Security Breach (which by the way, is hilarious when people act like these systems are some how unbreakable) and the mor recent stuff, I'd still trust them more, then EA. I'd list EA's failings, but that would take to long and I have other shit to do, like make dinner, besides, those are WELL documented.

So if me trusting one company's DRM over another, because said company has for the most part, not been out to fuck over it's customer, treat them like criminals and ruin their own franchises as well as the industry as a whole (even if they are in desperate NEED of quality control in the shop) some how makes me a 'hypocrite'.

Fine, I'm a 'hypocrite', doesn't change a damn thing though. EA is still a worse company by a wide margin then Value

That's the spirit! Everything's better with Kaiju.
