Thanks for replying. It's nice, as long as you get your lightning bolts down to 1.6 seconds with haste and keep to your rotation, with gear you can get upwards of 5k dps.
That's why I can't play the game...I mean what the hell? Is there some kind of translator for this stuff?
He says it's nice to cast this one spell, lightning bolt, in only 1.6 seconds with haste. With good armor and stuff, he can do like 5,000 damage per a second. Lol the only translators are human ones XD

Oh, and what rotation do you use. And what spells are the highest priority, like which ones are you sure to cast wen they are up

No offense.

Also, Welcome to The Escapist, but most people here dislike WoW, for whatever reason.
This.

Humm...I've rarely been in a position to have most of the top Tier gear, neither with PvP or PvE. I mean, I was doing okay pre-Wrath and had done most of the endgame stuff and was in a good arena team, but, I kind of slowed down afterword.

Besides, I mostly collect gear that looks good on my characters, must have spent a King's ransom in gold of various whites, greens, and blues just because of how the gear looked rather than it actually being useful in game, but then I use that stuff solely for RP so it really doesn't matter.

My favourite outfit so far was an entire Winter clothing suit (Santa Suit) and a pair of flaming pauldrons from the Fire Festival, I'd go around handing out bags to lowbies who'd engage in a little RP for them.
Gotta admit, partly this is one reason I play, I like interacting with other gamers, which is why we're all here, right?

Havent done it for a year or so because there just isn't the newbie population any more, but during holidays, I'd log my troll, put him in nothing but a funny hat a bright pink dress, and some sparklers, and then announce to Durotar (the newbie zone outside the main Orc City, Orgrimmar)...

'Help help, a troll has escaped the asylum, report to me his location and earn a reward in gold!'

Then I'd go play hide n seek with the newbies, giving out small cash prizes to any joining in.

Now, of course, this could be used to say' lol WOW is so bad you have to entertain urself' but its more that I like it BECAUSE I can make my own fun, and help other players, and just interact with fellow gamers in a fun way.

Of course I thoroughly enjoy the main game too, although I don't have any max level players, I'm just not really a 'raider', enjoying the questing and levelling aspects more.

Sure we pay for it, but it's a pretty minimal fee, and I enjoy it. Not trying to convince anyone else to join in, but just stating that some of us can still have fun out there :D

Oh and of course, Blizzard, like Valve, understand the 'technically superior graphics just shut out your product to people without a gaming rig' and so spend their money on artistic people, not number crunchers, when it comes to design.

Really do you want your character to have 20,000 polygons and refracted lighting with hardward transformation and the rest? Or do you just want him looking interesting? IF the former, are you willing to pay an extra $500 to see the individual threads and stains on his loincloth?

And us WOW players are the freaks? :D

He is saying that if you have a high enough haste rating for your gear, allowing the spell to take only 1.6 seconds to cast, and use your rotation (The order in which you use your spells to maximize damage) properly, you can deal 5k damage every second with the right gear.

The MMO poll seems to show otherwise. Very unfortunate.

THIS, entirely valid point, but when I use it as one of the reasons I don't like to watch football, despite being male and British, it doesn't count.

To me its 2 11 man raids, in stupidly expensive epic gear that doesn't even give them skill bonuses, endlessly trying to grind points, and you don't even get to dual class or respec, if you're a goalie, you're staying in goal for your whole career.

Not to mention all the PVP arenas look the same, a rectangular field with some lines on it.

And the gear, it all just looks so samey, maybe a few different colours here and there, but no chains, no spikes, they've missed a merchandising opportunity to me.

Beckham wouldn't last 3 seconds against a level 1 orc!

^Note outdated cultural reference, because I REALLY don't know much about football, and this being the internet gives me the right to criticise it fully like an expert.

I don't have any screenshots as I uninstalled a good while ago and no longer play.

My main was a level 80 Feral Druid.
I did change my spec a lot and had gear for all specs, although my Balance set was a little lacking.

I have some very rare mounts, including Prince Kael'thas white strider and the green proto drake, my favourite mounts.

I quit for several reasons, one being that I was getting forced into DPS instead of Tanking.
Admittedly my DPS was good enough for me to understand why, I still didn't like it.
I could top 7K DPS when spec'd for it which is fairly respectable (on Patchwerk).

I love discussing WoW with friends at lunch. I don't know how you find it not interesting to discuss.

The things I like discussing about WoW are often the plot points and the boss fights. I could care less about gear, but I totally want to go through Naxxramas and fight every boss there, simply because they sound interesting. I actually made it to a Kel'Thuzad fight, which was simple but rather grindy, however because it was such a big deal I got excited about it.

I've also raided the Vault, but still have yet to defeat Emalon. Bleugh.

And here I thought I was the only one! ^_^

I'd always thought I just transferred my City of Heroes playstyle to WoW. WoW isn't as friendly as CoH as far as creating alts goes...but damned if I let that stop me.

You have already been welcomed OP, so I won't waste pixels on repeating.

I have tried world of warcraft, after the initial novelty it bored me. Once I got to level 70 I realised the futility and elitism that surrounds the game. I realised that I could get immediate fun and recognition of my talent by picking up an MP5 in Call of Duy, rather than having to run a 3 hour instance 12 times for a blue dragon mount.

Even when I was playing.... gear doesn't seem like something interesting. Sorry about not contributing much to the thread but if world of warcraft is raised, I think it deserves a little constructive criticism.

I know, thread necromancy:( I just wanted to respond to the question about my rotation(missed it).

The best rotation in my experience if you have moderate haste(under 530) is flame shock, lava burst, 4 lightning bolts, chain lightning, lava burst again. 2 more lightning bolts, flame shock, chain lightning, lava burst then the 4 lighting bolts again and repeat.
