If they started pricing right I wouldn't consider piracy. 60$ for medal of honor? 50$ for front mission evo? 40$ for dead rising 2? These games are not worth the price, and I've gotten ripped off way to many times. Oh and for anyone who says "you can wait for the prices to drop" take a look at CoD MW 2. Still 60$ after about 2 years, and it's only half as good as CoD 4. Price them reasonably and sure I'd buy it. The only time I wouldn't pirate ever would be for companies just starting.
If you can't afford it you don't play it. It's hardly a conundrum.
Price it fairly so people don't feel the urge to steal it, what can't you comprehend about that method?
Games are a luxury, and just because people have wafer thin morals doesn't mean companies should bend over for them.

Companies should stop overpricing garbage that can be downloaded for free off the internet. In my country a new game costs upwards of $90 on average, there's no justification for this, and people who still want the product have a way of getting it for free. If a company want's to act greedily then they shouldn't expect piraters to care about them.
Entitlement at it's shining best (meaning worse).

Irrelevant. The point is that the industry needs to adjust or risk being ripped off.
You said it yourself, they're getting it for free, and you're putting too much faith in people to then buy games that have dropped in price.

The gamers need to change.

tl;dr
Well what about older games that are nearly impossible to find these days? Or games for appreciably older consoles? Those would be the only games I would pirate. It's not like I wouldn't pay for them if I had the chance; but sometimes downloading is the only way to get certain games.
