To Warhammer 40K fans: What's your favourite and least favourite Space Marine chapter or race?

Favourite: Blood Ravens, because I'm a giant DoW fanboy. If we're only talking about proper GW chapters, Raven Guard. Cool colour scheme and Kayvaan Shrike is a badass dude.
Least Favourite: Iron Hands. I don't particularly dislike any chapter, but the Hands just don't have any fluff, and their colour scheme is bleh too.

Out of the ranks of established chapters I'll go with Space Wolves and Ultramarines, respectively.

That said, my ultimate preference lies with the XV Legion, both pre- and post-heresy.

I'd have to rate Dark Angels as my favourite, mostly because they're the only Space Marines I could probably play being an old time Choas player. Actually seem interesting to me (not that others don't, I dont' mind Blood Angels and Salamanders)

But I loath Ultramarines for the exact same reason I like the others. I know they're bland and boring because they're an introduction for new players, but I still don't get why people play after that. They're just generic, boring "good guys". After you learn the rules and decide you want to play Spare Marines (which in itself is a poor decision, but whatever, up to you...) pick a real chapter or make up your own...

If not my favorite are the Black Templars because they are Teutonic Knights in space(Germanic themes, power armour, war and space all feature heavily on the patented Yakob list of Fucking Awesome things).

As for least favorite, well, I don't really hate things in 40K as I just dismiss anything too retarded to exist in official cannon (space wolf riding Space Wolves? Really?) but Boltgun to my head I would have to say the White Scars are a bit lame. In their defense, thats just because I don't really like Space Marine bikers and their entire chapter is "bikes + Mongol influences + more bikes".

Least favourite: A lot of my friends have hate for the ultramarines for the latest codex being a massive circlejerk of that chapter,but Dark Angels are pretty irritating too. DARK HISTORY, REDEMPTION BLAH BLAH.

I guess I don't like the Ultramarines, but not for the same reasons as most of you.

Favorite chapter: Revilers.
Loyalists that fights Chaos with daemonweapons. Because they are just that badass.
Iron Hands are pretty cool too.

Least favorite: Everyone else.

as for a favourite, the one i made up, eagles of the Emperor, and so are clearly the best

Least favourite'd probably be Ultramarines. I just find it very hard to care about them, and they get so much discussion in the official lit, it's preposterous.

Favorite: Ultramarines are close and the Soul Drinkers have such a bad ass thing going on, but for me, it's Raven Guard. It's like an entire army of Assassin Space Marines. Actually, on that note, does anyone know any books written about them? They seem to be a very secret Chapter.

Least Favorite: Imperial Fists. I just hate the elitist attitude they have. It pisses me off.

Most Hated: Either Grey Knights cause well FUCK GREY KNIGHTS, or Blood Angels cause they think they are the shit just cause of Sanguinius.

Favourite - Grey Knights (have been for a while), Space Wolves and Legion of the Damned.

Least favourite - Mortifactors because, well, they are a bit bizarre.

I'm a Tyranid player though so, while I do like some things in the Imperium, i'm afraid all must die before the Hive Fleet.

Favourite maybe Thousand Sons or Blood Raven's, I kinda like the traitor chapters and Tzeentch - so one of the first founding legions and their (possible) descendants are my favourites

Well and least favourite is pretty easy: Ultramarines - they are just too strong

Favourite Chapter: Imperial Fists. They were my table-top army chapter and they are a first founding chapter, I love their history of fighting on Terra defending against the traitors during the Horus Heresy. Also, they spawned the Black Templars and Crimson Fists.

Least Favourite: Ultramarines. I don't like their self-righteousness (yes Space Marines are like that in general but Ultramarines even more so). Also, in the tabletop game they get stupid amounts of cool stuff that other chapters don't get!
