Based off of every other cartoon-based MMOG that I've played so far, this is going to be crap. Why couldn't they just let Tom and Jerry die with dignity?
Well at least this news finally gave me a nudge to research into Hello Kitty Online. You can build farms :O

I wanna see what it will turn out like though. I think I'm the only one who may take pleasure if it's bad because it will be entertaining to watch. And World of Tom and Jerry? What a name.
it's released in china, where t&g are still very popular.
why is this getting so much coverage? there are loads of MMOGs out there that cater for niche tastes. the genre also apeals particularly to the asian market, especially china and korea. maybe it's a cultural thing.
Okay, now this is just ridiculous. Hello Kitty Island Adventure I could understand a 'joke' MMO, and I didn't bat an eye at the Final Fantasy, Star Wars, and The Matrix MMOs out there, but seriously, this is destined for failure in so many ways.
They don't say who the target audience is. If it's for kids then it just might work. And if it works, then I'm hoping for a Pinky and the Brain game. Think of all the co-op possibilities!
OK, I'd probably play a Pinky and the Brain MMO. I'd have "Are you pondering what I'm pondering...?" macro'd and everything
I can't see Tom and Jerry working as an MMO. One thing to bear in mind is that all we've seen is that it will be an MMOG, NOT an MMORPG, so it's a bit hypocritical to claim it'll be awful because the genre described shares a few letters with a game that you don't like. It could be an MMOFPS like Team Fortress 2, or a MMORTS (I don't know how, just work with me on this!)? My bets on an MMO Platformer/Puzzler, with multiple Tom-like cats teaming up to work out puzzles in a futile attempt to get the mice.
