At first I didn't get that it was a joke and I was all "What did I do? " lolol.

I'm sorry, but I hate Boudicca and the Celts in Gods and Kings sooooo much.

While the other leader's AI can be a bit nuts, Boudicca is a raving, backstabbing, ungrateful lunatic at the best of times.

And the problem is, I haven't played a single game where she hasn't been one of the AI enemies since G+K came out!

not really...From my understanding Casino Royale was actually the first Bond story Ian Fleming wrote, but before they could make it into a movie a comedy version was made, and they had to wait for the copyright on the name to run out before they could go back and make the new version, so really it was just going back and adding in missing pieces of the story.

(like I said this is how it was explained to me, I could be completely talking out of my ass, feel free to correct me if that's the case )

The stupid, stupid, controversy. God I almost want to buy this day one just to stick it to all the people screaming about nothing. People will complain about any target they can latch on to.

I guess that's why I don't particularly like the idea. I mean, I know I'm in the margins here, but I didn't really like what they did with Batman or the Joker in the reboot movies. I didn't like that they made Bond super traumatized by the loss of various lady-friends in traumatic ways and torture and so forth. I liked them being who they were because they were strong personalities with interesting quicks. I don't like where I now have to accept that has come from. I cringed. They lost some of their sparkle for me in that grittier rebirth that they won't get back any time soon.

My life has been plenty gritty and realistic enough not to want that in either my gaming or my movie going experience to the degree it's being put out of late. Again, I realize I may be in the margins there, so I hope this is good for everyone else, because I won't be joining y'all in playing it (or watching the Batman or Bond movies again unless my fiancé steals the remote control and forces the issue).

Not only did the rebooters of Batman and James Bond not feel the need to change the basic character of their protagonists, but Crystal Dynamics are hardly Frank Miller, Christopher Nolan or Tim Burton. I fail to see why it was "necessary" to bowdlerise the Lara Croft so that she is no longer an aristocrat, an archaeologist or even 100% English any more. It has no relevance to the game play, and shows so little respect for an iconic character it borders on Anglophobia.

I'm pretty sure it's a reboot.

At one point M (Judi Dench) in Casino Royale says, "Christ, I miss the Cold War!" which is contradictory to the idea of Casino Royale being an origin story for the previous twenty movies (in addition to the anachronisms) because the M (also Judi Dench) in GoldenEye says, "I think you're [Bond] a sexist, misogynist dinosaur. A relic of the Cold War, whose boyish charms, though lost on me, obviously appealed to that young girl I sent out to evaluate you."

That statement implies Bond in GoldenEye is much older than he appears but we know that the Bond in Casino Royale has only recently been made a 00-agent, and that the M character in GoldenEye and the M character in Casino Royale are two different (though similar) characters.

The franchise has been around for 13 years, and with this approach they're already outdated by about that length of time. Dark n gritty origins stories showing the hero is 'only human' is far past its 'consume before' date, to the point where a hero which is actually superhuman is refreshing. I don't know why they got the feeling that because Batman did it, they had to as well.

As for not relating to Lara - pffft. If I wanted to revive Lara, I'd give her new powers - maybe lasers shooting out of her breasts. Relate to THAT!
