Does anyone else feel that there are too many new games, movies, albums and other stuff coming out to keep up with?

I know its great and all that there are so any great new things coming out to keep us entertained but it means I can't afford to see every movie I want or play every game I want because I can't afford to buy that many that quickly. If three movies come out I want to see I might get to see one of them before they are gone again.

Maybe I;m just cheap/poor or maybe I;m just not budgeting well but I want to know does anyone else feel like we are getting overloaded with so much entertainment that you can't enjoy it as much as you'd like to.

Exactly, I've played a lot of Mod War2 and a little of L4d2 but haven't been able to buy either yet because I just spent money on other stuff before those came out.

It's not your imagination, all these movies, games, albums, etc. are coming out for the holiday season. Around March there won't be as much, because holidays are over most people spent the money they got.

Hi 5 for being cheap my man. But seriously, I try to keep up with the influx of new stuff ever month or so and its really just a matter of finding the stuff you really want/need. Buy for necessity first. Buy for fun second. My only problem with that has been figuring out which comes higher on my Fun List, Booze or Games.

It's not as if you have to get every game as soon as they come out, you know. I got the first Gears of War for about £7 just last week, and I had fun with it. (Even if RAAM is a load of bullshit if you're playing alone).

But yeah, if all the games released at once is too much for you, consider... you know, not getting them for a while?

On the topic of MW2, though, the main reason I haven't gotten it yet is because I am one of the 18 people ACTUALLY boycotting it for now. I'll get it eventually, but like hell I'm paying the full price for it.

Because they go so well together its hard to pull them apart and say one is better than the other.. I feel your pain.

March is end of Fiscal year. Loads of sales and all the companies get rid of all their games/albums/etc. to try and bring up the end of year business report so they get cash, their stock goes up and the share holders are happy.

Yes but then I'll get to a stage where I am constantly playing games all my firends ahve played several months before me, I am therefore not able to partake in several conversations and stuff... and anyway; I'm greedy, I want to play them now! When they come out not a year down the road...

Well, it's better than too little entertainment, don't you think?
Yes but can't we have a happy medium?
Evidently not.
I guess the market caters more to those who can buy & play all these things really quickly.

Besides, you make more money that way.
True, very true.

One of the 'benefits' of being a friendless, jaded misanthrope. No need to worry about thing like that.

In any case though, if that's the problem, you could always just pick a few of the games your friends also have and then get the others later on when the price drops to save money?

:D Love the guys at Rooster Teeth...

OT: A lot can be narrowed down for me for the simple fact that while I enjoy console games, I don't own any for myself. So, PC games for me.
Then I just pick and choose. I know I'm getting AvP2. CoD 4 and MW2 should do me for a good while, too.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel the need to buy every game that comes out...

Yes. It's called market competition. It's not just console companies that compete, games developers do as well.

If you can't afford them all, choose one.

Yeah RT Crew are great.

I don't want every game that comes out, its just when a game I want comes out and at the same time two movies and a book I want also come out it sorta stretches the wallet a little.

Yeah I suppose, but then I still have to try go to the movies and buy books and stuff too... I guess I'm just a glutton for entertainment.
