1. Oblivion (tough call between this and Skyrim)

2. Uncharrted 2 (this was seriously a brilliant game to show off this console generation)

3. Team Fortress 2 (Really the ultimate shooter right now)

1.Fallout 3

Skyrim is not even close. The combat sucks, the story is boring and the characters suck.
Uhhh, what?

I don't like either games, but I'm not sure how you can say those things about Skyrim but have FO3 as #1.
Same here... I found both games to be large, empty boring worlds filled with lifeless characters and horrible combat. How can you diss Skyrim and have a game that's 50% the same as your #1?

The best games this gen?
Portal
Valkyria Chronicles
Fallout 3 (but I'm thinking Borderlands 2 might unseat it)
My favorites:

Valkyria Chronicles
Mass Effect 2
Diablo 3

No one cares about my opinion so I'm not going to bother with pictures.

I'm a massive Halo fan (got the books, comics and a statuette of a Spartan in a bubble shield) so this is an obvious choice it having jet packs and all...

Love Silent Hill almost as much as Halo. I thought people were way to hard on the HD remake because my experience had no glitches or frame rate drops, it was just how I remembered only it looked a bit nicer.

I love this game and it's in my top 10 without a doubt and it's the 3rd in that list from this generation. I didn't get all the hate for it. (Admittedly I was going to put Gears for No. 3 but I thought this would piss so many people off I just had to)

Damn this is a tough one.. top 5 would be much better xD

Bastion
-Engaged me in a way that no game had really done before, loved every second of it.

Total War series
-Medieval 2 is probably the best, but I also enjoyed Shogun 2 quite a lot =)

Dragon Age Origins
-If nothing else then because of the sheer amount of hours I've put into this game, great characters, great storytelling, and fun combat =)

Honorable mention to Witcher 2 and Crusader Kings 2, great games =)

In no particular order

I would have Total War: Rome here, but it ain't from this generation, but this does just as well. It's a great RTS that never gets boring, and soon we'll have a sequel to bring us even more joy.

Loved the characters and the dialogue. The story wasn't much, it was basically, get a team and fuck the Collectors up. It was the small side-stories within though that really made it so great.

One of the best single player campaigns that I've played, and it's got an above average multiplayer. It's actually the only multiplayer that I have a positive k/d in also.
