I do love Top Gear but I wish they would be less fake sometimes. I love it when they are genuinley showing their personalities and not putting it on for the camera.
It's a bit past it now IMHO. The dialogue between the presenters used to come off as spontaneous banter (even if it wasn't) but now it all seems a bit laboured and scripted. I still watch it if I remember that it's on but it's not must see telly anymore.

I'm certainly a fan of the show, and it does have a lot of international viewers, apparently, but I'd just say it's not really a car show any more. Though when it is, I'm not as interested. Don't even have a provisional license, never had a lesson. Only driving experience I've had was doing handbrake turns in a muddy field to piss off posh buggers at the Henley festival.
Top Gear is one of those program where the quality shifts wildly episode to episode. When its good, its the best thing on TV (apart from Doctor Who) but when its bad, its terrible. I always feel sorry for James May though becuase if you watch his other programs, he always seems like a really nice guy whos enthusiastic about what he does where as the other two just seem like childish idiots.
In fairness, i have to agree with those people saying its getting stale. I just watch it for the challenges where they go all a-team on their cars. That and the proper special challenges. Nothing can quite match the african challenge, except maybe that bit in the north pole one where the cold weather specialist fella pushed clarkson into the hole in the ice. absolute quality that.
but frankly, yeah, they could lose the test driving fast cars, the star in the reasonably priced car, even the news. its all just filler while u wait 2 see how the challenge turns out.

I love Top Gear, especialy the...uh...specials. The regular show is also very entertaining, due to the chemistry between Jeremy, James and Richard. They make car jibberish bearable!

Love the show and the way its presented, lol...and the above example is a top reason why its the above =D
I used to love it, just the season before last I would tell you that it was the best thing on TV.
Now though, they've pretty much done everything they can do with the show and it's clearly over the hill, I'm sure it'll get quite a few more seasons though.

I'm probably projecting more than i care for top gear but since i have limited virgin channels all there is left is reruns of scrubs and friends, and thats just depressing
Get Clarksons new DVD then, Top Gear vs Fifth gear, best of both worlds. You got the Stig vs Tiff Needell and Clarkson vs the sexy Vicky Butler Henderson.

if they could somehow incorporate VBH in to Top Gear it would be perfect....
I love Top Gear for the countless fantastic challenges and features such as crossing the channel, driving across Africa, Vietnam and the Andes, the freerunners, the winter olympics and the 24hr endurance race and the camper van demolition derby to name but a few. These have always been fantastically shot, edited and scored and i'd say made it one of the most entertaining shows in the world for a while there. I do think it's jumped the shark now though and they really should call it a day.
I will say that it's the ONLY car show on tv that I have EVER found entertaining.
