Also, do you also feel that some of the procedure is probably just wrong? Somehow the way they treat judges and the things judges say to lawyers just don't feel... well, European.
A friend of mine who's a lawyer explained to me that if he decided to "remind" a witness that he was under oath, for instance, he would get immediately held in contempt because that's actually the judge's job.
I miss the obsessive accuracy with procedure of The Practice. Come to think of it, The Practice UK would be a great idea for a show.
Hmmm... I wonder if I can take this thread even further off topic, somehow.
Also, from what I understand, the Europeans have judges being the main force of the court, whereas our system is much like the American system - the lawyers are the main force with the judges more acting as referees.
