I enjoyed it, but I always wondered, why didn't they just open the door to the aliens container?
And why was the glass for the container bulletproof? It was almost like they were determined to protect the alien.
It was built to the 456 specifications, I don't think they wanted to piss them off at this stage. Plus if they did try and open the door then they would have released a virus.

I liked the ending even though it didn't have the satisfactory feeling you get from a happy ending, it was darker, more realistic and more emotional. Although I didn't like the way they stopped the alien - felt a bit of a rush, sudden solution.

Couldn't they have drained the gas from the container, depriving it of it's needed atmosphere, killing it? It would have saved Jack's grandson.

I do wonder if they'll ever be another series of Torchwood now that Gwen is the only one left.
Probably not, Jack may make some Doctor Who appearances as he's going to live to be a million years old if the Face of Boe thing is true.
Nothing has killed him yet, so he probably will make Doctor Who appearances.

He's been seen on set for the Dr Who specials after the waters of mars
I'm looking forward to that special. Does anyone know when it's going to be shown?
early 2010 appaantly
Christ, that's a long time...
I liked the way they fought the soldiers at the end too. Also, can you imagine Gwen leading Torchwood? She's no Jack...
First, it's November this year, and second, I don't think they're going to be making Torchwood any more D:

Everyone died, Gwen is pregnant, Jack left - there really is no room. D:
Well I belive I read somewhere that they'd consider another series if the new series performed well and 6m viewers is pretty good by any standards, besides they've got it all set up, you can have Gwen struggling with her new family life and torchwood, you can have lois as one of the new team and possibly the female U.N.I.T leader coming in as it seems like they could do a lot with that character a cold edged killer who could have all kinds of juicy secrets waiting inside, and finally you could have Jack coming back and dealing with his daughter and all the problems he's caused I could really see it working.

Can someone help me remember

How did Tosh and Owen die? I can't remember
Owen died twice, he was ressurected by the Glove the first time and was a 'Walking Dead' for most of the 2nd series, then he and Tosh were killed by Jack's brother. Jack's brother shot Tosh and then they both lay there dying from Radiation Poisoning.

Apparently the New Series of Torchwood was originally planned to have a cast of..
Martha and Mickey from Doctor Who. But Freema the actress who plays here got the part in Law & Order UK, and the guy who plays Mickey is now a big time Writer/Director

I liked the ending, the whole point of torchwood is they can be morally grey in a way that Dr who can't be.
The face of boe thing is true, the producers, the writer, john and david have all said so in a press release

First episode was good.
Second episode wasn't great.
Third and fourth were good.
The last was good most of the way through but the ending was a bit sucky. It seemed to be building up to a more interesting way to end it than just screaming at the 456. I did however appreciate the ending for the character flaws of Jack.
All in all it was a good week but the previous series' have been better.

I loved it, I prefer Torchwood to Doctor Who these days and Children of Earth just made it even better. Also,OP I like your avatar...It seems familiar somehow.

Possibly but the thing is there was probably more than one alien, only one of them transported down. And again the creature could of released a virus / killed all the children in the world if threatened, as gas drains slowly unless they installed suction.

its pretty strange how the DR.Who and torchwood writers ussually do a pretty good job of building up the enimys but then always have to resort to Dues Ex to finish the show

I though the Tension was built brilliantly but yes the ending sucked, they left themselves 15 mins to wrap up a 5 hour story arc. It also missed the epic ending it could have had with a week way of killing the alien and explaining that there was maybe more of them or that it was one junkie acting on its own, it would have been a lot of children for one alien though.

It felt like one of those star treks where it would be a slow double parter and build a complex story abd then solve it in about 5 mins not explaining how it worked.

But overall it was very good compared to most of the dross that has been on telly recently.

Its all on BBC iPlayer. But if your using Hulu its safe to guess your in America, and I don't know if you can use it. But I don't think Hulu will have it.
So far the only thing Hulu has for Torchwood is some interviews and such and BBC's iPlayer doesn't work outside the UK. BBC America doesn't appear to stream full episodes from their site *shakes fist angrily at BBC America's web devs*. Maybe I'll get lucky and Sci-Fi will show it once it airs on BBC America (which is this coming week, I believe.) If not, there'll surely be a DVD release.

UPDATE

Watched on iPlayer. Very good, episode 2 was quite weak, but the start, the plot, the 456, the final episode, were all so well written, acted, edited and directed. A good end for series 3, the only series i've found watchable. Darker than most of the other series, and a lot darker and more creepy than some of the "dark" Doctor Who's of late, quite like some of the original Doctor Who episodes... worth watching, bring on series 4....

and the next episode of Dr Who while they're at it.
