This is so not true
English is actually THE easiest language to learn (There's been research on that)
Anyway Dutch for spanish (See I would be able to keep english as Both were learned through the same manner)
I highly doubt that butt-fucked lingual combination of Germanic roots, Latin, French and whatever else we could throw together is significantly easier to learn than, say, Spanish that has had relatively little non-Latin originated phrases thrown in over the course of centuries.
