See what they are trying to do is ruin Battlefield 3 by injecting a horde of deathmatch addicted CoD players who only care about K/D ratios and don't play the objective.
But they'll at least buy a copy of Battlefield 3 for full price making EA feel much better about themselves at the end of the day.
Furthermore, if you team up with your friends and play against those K/D ratio-tards, then you can just run them over for easy points.
Win/Win.

Google is failing me and saying 99p is roughly 156 USD, which is absurdly expensive for any game.

Please clarify.
I think the internet means $1.56, not $156

Hah!
Look at it this way: Console gamers don't have to go to a fucking website or download Origin to play. And they get a server list inside the game.
But... but... the game starts up real fast. And not a problem for some people. So therefore you are wrong and should stop complaining about having to install Origin, use it to launch your browser, and use that browser to play single or multi-player. What's the problem? You installed Steam for games, so therefore that mean's you're willing to install any other service to play any other game.
...

Fuckin' gamer logic man.
I can't tell if your serious or not there, man. Worrying.
Well, I wasn't. But the people who told me this stuff when I pointed out the general obtuseness of this whole thing seemed pretty serious.

Did you wade into them armed with a shovel? That's really the only rational response to that.

This is pretty funny. I wonder what EA and Activision think of it. It certainly brings a smile to my face.
I'm one of those people who's buying both games and I'm certain I'm going to love them both.

Ha! Silly people, I'm getting BF3 on my PC AND my 360, just like BC2!

I figure I'll have more fun on PC, but I'll be able to play with my friends on the 360 because I'm the only one of us that has an actual gaming rig.

But yea, this right here is not really a good idea. Not to turn it into a CoD bashing thread, but the two games are built on very different principles, and those that are good in one aren't necessarily going to like the other. Not only that, but people will try to bring in certain gameplay "strategies" into BF3 that work in CoD. Not looking forward to that...

With all the crap EA has done to the PC version...sure, why not.
64 players?

Much better graphics, effects and performance?

Etc?

Not a fan of Origin tho. Understatement really.

I will be playing it on PS3 to avoid origin, trading out graphics and having to use a game pad is worth it to avoid that.

Plus the server system, though un-intrusive I don't like it, that's my opinion and mine alone.

So yeah, people will definitely be getting it on console for a number of different reasons be it avoiding origin, their systems specs or merely because they prefer using an analog stick over a mouse (bizarre thought but some people genuinely do)

Running this kind of campaign seems weird until you figure how many used BF3s will be on the market after. Will that be using Online Pass at all?

Geez, that trade-in deal has more strings attached than a fly-fishing puppet.

(Also no 99 problems jokes yet?)

Thats all well and good. But when it comes to the actual GAMING...consoles are inferior ^^.

OT: Good for Battlefield since its (imo) a much more interesting franchice. That said...I cant say I'm particularly hyped for any of these titles. Batman: AC is where its at. GO PC RELEASE! I cant waaaaaaaait.......

oooh sixty four players....wait a minute...i hate playing with more then 24 because things get clusterfucky for me after that...graphics should never be a factor in gameplay. performance if you have the computer to run it. not everyone has the spare money to upgrade there pc's. i hate mouse control and love the feel of a controller. so on and so forth. so yeah console for me...if i was gonna play it but i hate the battlefield series. anyways those are my two cents on that argument. though again this is my opinion and i completely respect everyone elses and dont mind them at all. if you like battlefield hey more power to ya i dont but im not gonna rub it in your face

You mean there is a difference between the two games? I figured they were the same old generic army game that's been regurgitated out by lazy developers for the past half decade in shiny new packages. I suppose your average shooter fan these days isn't bright enough to notice though. Then again your average shooter fan these days probably isn't capable of reading the advert...
You are indirectly insulting my intelligence, good sir.

There are huge differences between MW3 and BF3, and if you really can't see them, perhaps there's something wrong with you.

OT: Great. Though I will be getting them both, but quite a nice move by Activision/IW, nonetheless.
