Google is failing me and saying 99p is roughly 156 USD, which is absurdly expensive for any game.

Please clarify.
.99 UK£ = 1.565091 U.S. dollars

// Ninja'd. TWICE. What is this.

Actually, am I the only one who isn't bothered by Origin? Or Battlelog?

What bothers people about Origin is franky, they are using it to pretty much commit legalised invasion of privacy (Kind of thing police need warrants for), amongst other things (Last I checked), and that was locked into their end user agreement.

Personally, if it 'Requires' internet at any point for any of the single player functions to work I am not very pleased. If it requires internet for single player play ALL the time then it can fuck off. If it requires I download a seperate program to play singleplayer, it can similarly fuck off.
Valve* and EA's always internet DRM are examples of the two extremes. I have been kinder to log on to register games but am not too keen on them.

*I got nothing against Valve as a company but I prefer to have the choice of wither to use it or not (as I may or may not agree to their terms and why the fuck should their terms affect something they had no input on)

what is this I don't even...

Gaming isn't like journalism, people don't have to be neutral (or at least be try to look neutral). Of course this still seems.... odd. I don't wanna be the guy at the counter that needs to rebuttal all the mass Battlefield fanboys spewing hate like geysers over this. They're going to need riot gear to handle this one.

There are people who are going to play BF3 on a console?

Hah!
Look at it this way: Console gamers don't have to go to a fucking website or download Origin to play. And they get a server list inside the game.
During the BETA it worked brilliantly. I couldn't be hapier with the system to be honest =).

"Or, and keep in mind this is merely wild speculation, there might be some who purchase and enjoy both games."

What? Not possible! Never!

Lulz. With the truckloads of mudslinging EA has done this is a nice final retort by Activision.

I probably won't get either one until around Christmas to wait and see how they work out. BF has always been very unappealing to me on consoles and while CoD is actually fun, if it gets the same post launch as MW2 did it's in just as much trouble.
