And so it has begun as I had predicted.
The fanboys have started to open their eyes. They are only beginning to question bioware, but soon it will go out of control and bioware will no longer be god of rpgs. Even a fanboy can only remain blindly obedient and pretend to enjoy games for so long...

The end is near.

Preset character, lavish and gorgeous looking cutscene teasing, but showing no content?

Oh. My. God. It looks like a JRPG.
I thought the same thing. I don't really have a problem with that though, and I know the game will be WRPG through and through.

Consider me pumped, I'll be making a pre order in the next few weeks.

That's a "big" sword? That things look like a half-staff, half-sword kinda of hybrid.

That's a big sword.

Edit: Everyone loved Commander Shepard. So I don't see what's the big issue here, we will probably be able to modify Hawke's appearance hopefully.

Still can get my head around why they didnt stick with make your characters as it was one of the best selling points. Now it turned into every other bland hero of the land rpg.

I will still get it as i really like the orignal but would have prefered to carry on my characters storyline.

Nice trailer, though I would like to see some gameplay. I'm also again, a little irritated I need to play as a human. Bioware's games are good but they need to show me that this game is going to be good, above and beyond Origins and then I will sink my money into it. They haven't let me down yet, but it better maintain its RPG roots

I think I'll enjoy the tears of all the 'fans' as I ponder what this title will feel like while playing through it.

Because you know what would've been worse than this? Bioware making Dragon Age 2 on EXACTLY the same concepts as the original Dragon Age. Just add new stories and harp on it being the whole point of the new title. Otherwise gameplay-wise not changing anything at all...because it's become 'classic'.

So long as they keep a frame of mind, that is willing to experiment with Dragon Age titles, I see no reason for Bioware to have sold out as of yet. Granted if I see this as the herald of another FF series hahah...well...then I might indeed consider it. But one title diverging from the former isn't enough for me. Of course I'm sure plenty of others will be willing to ***** about the lack of 'realism' in a fantasy game and about things being too stupid now so - hate on.

Dragon Age 1 was snidely called a 'LOTR knockoff' while Dragon Age 2 will likely be called a 'Final Fantasy knockoff'. Both statements seem equally retarted to me in the end, unless you want to go into whom LOTR and FF ripped off, who ripped off someone else in the past, ect. ect. ect. But really...lawl...I can forsee great whining in the future, especially as the series will probably sell like hot cakes.

I wonder how much that BS trailer cost. What. A. Waste. Of. Money.

Gameplay footage or GTFO Bioware.

Surprised no one mentioned the voice in the trailer is Flemeth's.
Does that mean that the canon story is that you didn't kill her in the first one? I mean, I'm not sure if she completely died, but it would probably take a long time for her to find a suitable person to take over... Unless, maybe you see her only in the early parts of Dragon Age 2 since the stories overlap.

So, far it doesn't seem as crazy extreme powers as I thought it would be from reading the comments. Not close at all to Final Fantasy type levels at all. It does still seem a bit crazy considering how Dragon Age seemed to try to keep the fantasy powers from going to crazy overpowered. I hope the game itself doesn't go any crazier than the trailer though cause even though I like crazy ass fantasy powers, it doesn't seem appropriate to the Dragon Age universe. I'm annoyed there is only one origin and the game does seem like a bit dumbing down, but even if a dumbed down Dragon Age game by Bioware would be fun.

For those complaining about how the his trailer had a main character with a preset appearance, and nothing but pre generated combat footage: I guess you've forgotten about the first DA:O trailer which showed, let's see, a set main character, nothing but pre generated combat clips. Oh, and that one had glowy eyes too.

As for the "sword is too big" crowd, I don't know about you, but I remember using some swords in DA:O that were already pretty much that same size. *shrug*

So freaking badass. I like that he has a beard, as those are in need of greater representation.
