Also saying 'Using a well known title to sell it' is a bit of an insult, considering the guy who made the original BioShock is making this game, and I feel he is fully entitled to use the title however he wants.
Whoa! again! To be honest saying its an "insult" is taking it a bit far. I didn't know it was the same person who did the bioshock and yeah he is entitled to use it but i never said he should NOT use it, i just didn't want the franchise to keep going on and on getting more stale and mundane. I did not mean it in any way but the best... I promise ^^
Sorry, I went a bit overboard. Stale and mundane are an odd choice of words to use considering the different innovations that are going to be used in this game. If you like BioShock 2 then you'll see why I believe that the franchise is only getting better the more games they make. Combining the gameplay improvements from the second game and applying the amazing writing/plot from the first game seems to be a good combination to me.

My guess is that he used the name BioShock for brand recognition, because if he was to use a different name then people would assume it was a different game with a different plot with different gameplay. And then, most likely not buy it. While if you say BioShock you assume it's a great game with above average writing gameplay and storytelling.
Another reason is that he wanted it to be a middlefinger to the people who made BioShock 2 because they took over his franchise.
