Holy....

If that actually is real gameplay, since it did look a bit scripted, then that is FUCKING AWESOME.

If not, then hey I'm not surprised....ah well.

When the gun was picked up and he turned around with...murder? In his eyes...that was creeeeepy.

Drool... That looks awesome.

As has been said, though, one wonders about the degree of scripting. More to the point, one wonders if they can make scripting that doesn't endanger the player's feeling of empowerment and isn't easy to "break" through unexpected player actions. It's one thing to play a game that "feels like a movie", and another to play one that makes the player feel they never have any more choices than a character whose script is already written.

Okay, normally I don't go for hype but HOLY TROMBONE PANCAKES ON A POGO STICK THAT WAS AWESOME!

If this delivers as it promises I'm buying the special edition without question. The replacements for the Big Daddies are... interesting, to say the least. I just hope they're not Big Daddies, because I've always been a firm believer in the idea that all masked protagonists and antagonists should STAY masked. Judge Dredd, Master Chief and even Subject Delta are a lot cooler and mysterious with their masks than without, so don't go spoiling things now.

I think it's easiest to compare what the video is to the first video we got for the original bioshock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lmw78t8NgIE It clearly isn't actual gameplay but it does provide a pretty in depth idea of what the gameplay may be like.

Yeah, that really looks awesome. That big thing in the end looks though as hell, too.

Holy crap, that was intense! I definitely can't wait until this comes out now!

That bird plasmid is awesome, just sayin'.
I loved the bee plasmid and the birds look like a stronger version of it when I use it I will say it's Russell and friends.

the original big daddies are very effective because they weren't your enemy they are there to fix the city and stop a seven year old girl from getting kid napped and killed while the handymen look like they will just be enemies also the handymen look like they will be quite frankly unkillable (the handyman in the video fell off the bridge he didn't die) meaning you will either have to run away, making chase something else or something along the lines of freezing him or knocking him unconscious which could be just in great effect for atmosphere and intensity.

As for being scripted; remember the intro of the first one was playable, but still extremely scripted, and was it awesome? Hell yes.

I KNOW THAT VOICE! It's Garrett! I don't know why, but that makes me very happy.

And this looks to be amazing: even if that did have the feel of a scripted sequence, if they can come anywhere close to that, it could be one of the all-time great games. (I particularly liked the banter. I'm getting tired of the whole 'voiceless protagonist' shtick that everyone seems to be doing these days.)
I wasn't going to say anything, but I noticed the voice too. Good choice for a voice actor.

Legitimate gameplay or not, that was unbelievably cool. I may just have a new contender for my favorite trailer.

I came.

A game where you hook onto rails to ride across floating cities and shoot birds out of your hand to fight armies of lunatics. I think we've just achieved a new standard for "Totally fucking awesome".

"That's just making it angry!"

"IT'S ALREADY ANGRY!"

Genuinely evoked laughter from me. Nice.

This looks freakin' incredible, I've got to be honest. Tryin' not to get too hyped though, don't want to be disappointed.

Ah, well I did think it would be a long shot since this is set way before the original Bioshock and is in a completely different setting altogether, so the chances of them being Big Daddies was very slim. I just had to voice my objection in case they were claimed to be Big Daddies because they had no masks on, which kind of spoils the atmosphere of the original game and its sequel which had made the Big Daddy such a massive force of badassery. It seemed better to know they were once human, but never fully knowing what they looked like under all that diving gear. It lent to their sympathetic nature because you were essentially a slave killing other slaves because your master told you to. The way they lumbered around made me feel sorry for them at times.

Overall this looks massively impressive. Especially the telekinesis not being only used to weakly throw stuff at people with little-to-no effect like the original games did. I was disappointed with that in the originals; other games managed to let you have a lot more control over objects so why they (the original Bioshock team) opted to weaken it is a mystery to me.

the handyman head is made of metal but you can clearly see they have (literally) a heart meaning they will properly also where once human. the face you see is a helmet to properly make their face look more human then what they looked liked after they were made into handymen. so they to have a mask on.

Also I'm not a huge fan of the morality system that's going to revolve in part around whether or not you make use of the girl. I know I'm going to feel guilty when I use her powers because she's going to cry out in pain after it.
Wait... what?

Where did you hear about that?

From what I have been able to glean, she isn't his wife. He (the protagonist) is a private investigator sent to Columbia to rescue Little Miss Cleavage.
