Why do both the sith variants have fucking mechanical parts? What if I want a darth maul type? Or a darth sideous? This game sucks. I hate it already.

I don't think fantasy RPG and star wars mix well, this trailer was really gay. Which is why I won't be buying it. For that reason alone.
There are two Sith Classes. This is the Sith Warrior, based on Darth Vader. You can also be a Sith Inquisitor, who can advance to Sith Assassin (your Darth Maul type) or Sith Sorcerer (your Darth Sideous type).
So, Warrior Rogue and Mage? Wow, Bioware. Really making Star Wars unique there aint ya.
Point at an RPG game that you couldn't boil classes down to Warrior, Rogue, and Mage. Those WoW classes weren't original 7 years ago, they weren't original with Ultima Online 14 years ago, and they weren't original in the first Final Fantasy 24 years ago. Some people are real MMO snobs.

Anyways the sith warrior isn't a rogue class, that's a burst stealth that only lasts for a few seconds.

What you actually have in this game is:

Melee Tank - Jedi Knight / Sith Warrior
Range Tank - Trooper / Bounty Hunter
Mitigation/Stealth Tank - Jedi Consular / Sith Inquisitor

Melee DPS - Jedi Knight / Sith Warrior
Range DPS - Trooper / Bounty Hunter
Cover DPS - Smuggler / Agent
Stealth DPS - Jedi Consular / Sith Inquisitor / Smuggler / Agent

Healing - Trooper / Bounty Hunter
Stealth Healing - Jedi Consular / Sith Inquisitor / Smuggler / Agent
Cover Healing - Smuggler / Agent

All this does is make me annoyed about being a part of the community for over 2 years waiting for the beta signups, then being among the first to apply before the big delay, and still not being selected to test the damn thing after they did start taking people.

The animations are all very rigid, but they do one thing that deserves some merit. The combat animations correspond with one another. When he swings his lightsaber his opponent actually blocks it (also shows the character deflecting lasers). Considering this is an MMO that's something I have never seen. Can anyone name one MMO out there that has this kind of combat animation (I haven't played too many, but I can't think of one)?

But I'd much rather see gameplay footage than these trailers. They're trying to make it cinematic using MMO animations? Why? Every MMO has crap animations compared to games from other genres.

This was just a poor advertising tactic. I think the game will look a lot more fluid, or at the least keep our attention from solely being on it's appearance, when played.

Why do all the dudes look stupidly muscular?
JEDIS HAVE NO NEED FOR MUSCLE.
Yeah I was thinking that, there better be some Darth Sideous like Sith in this.
Plus, it looked like the final path to the Sith is some variation of "Darth Vader" with some kind of mechanical body. That or General Grevious.

Just out of curiosity, why did the Sith character saved the Twi'lek girl at the end there? I get that she may be an ally, but that few seconds seemed to emphasize this rescue, which gives me the impression the Sith in here are not the "evil" Jedi-side.
i think it is depicting the fact that the juggernaut is meant to be a tanking spec, so taking damage instead of others, placing themselves in the line of fire, defending other players etc...

plus, even sith have allies, if it furthers their own cause

Steadily looking worse and worse, Bioware! Seriously, I swear that that was a step back even from KoToR 1! Star Wars really needs a ro-boot, not this long protracted bludgeoning of its decayed carcass :/

I say every time a new mmo comes out:

ANIMATIONS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THEN RAW GRAPHICS!!!

Watch a different video people. This one doesn't showcase stuff very well (except the badass armor). Bounty Hunter trailer looks better in terms of animation. Also actual gameplay from Taral V looks better. Show me any MMO better than what you see in those and I'll shut up.* I'm patiently waiting for when everyone eats their words after release.

But I suppose I'm just a fanboy.

*except for maybe GW2, which does look pretty sweet. I mean aside from that.

Ugh, the character models look hideous. They should really reconsider the cartoony and stylized art direction, it fits in more with that awful SW cartoon show more then it does with the KoTOR games. The costumes and armor look ridiculous, and the proportions of the characters are on par with barbie dolls for being anatomically proportional, especially the overmuscled male models. Watching the development of ToR is like watching a car wreck in slow motion. It's horrifying to watch the extent to which they are willing to trash the KoTOR series in the name of milking it for all it's worth, but at the same time, I can't look away, because it is so fascinating to watch the extents to which they are going!
Go back to your store, Comic Book Guy.
Can't argue against my claim without resulting to insults? That doesn't help your position. Fact of the matter is, KoTOR I+II had more proportional character models then this, as well as a less stylized art direction in general.
No interest in arguing a point with you, dork.

Considering the amount of undue hostility you seem to be spouting everywhere like water from a sieve, I can certainly agree with you there! Although I do wonder how you expect anyone to respect your opinions when all you seem capable of is petty insults. Really not the best way to get your point across.

I have no point. We're not debating. Back to the store.

Of course not, I didn't really get that impression. If I had to liken this 'conversation' to anything, it would be to an adult trying to get a child throwing a fit to calm down, not a 'debate'. I was just hoping that given the opportunity, you might try to converse in forms of communication *besides* condescending name calling, but considering your apparent devotion to acting like a petty child, it is probably best to just ignore you. Esp considering that the original purpose of this thread seems to have vanished.

When were you going to start ignoring me, Comic Book Guy? Or did you want to write another paragraph from atop your high horse instead?
