the dog is fat so clearly you are giving it treats, STOP THAT, you dont wanna reward bad behavior, and when it start doing things you dont want it to, punish it and do it every time so it will realize what it does is wrong (and by punish i dont mean beat it silly, but a slightly harder than gentle wack on the nose or something) and when it does something right, reward it.

soon it will realize the pattern, eat shoes = being punished, going out side to pee = being rewarded.

its not that hard and dont say that your above hitting the dog, you purchased another living being just for your entertainment, thats way worse than giving it a little slightly harder than gentle slap.
We don't keep treats in the house...it's cause we have 3 dogs and not all of then eat at the same time, so we have this really weird food bowl...we haven't had treats in the house since we had my cats and that was at least 3 years ago.

Grab the cruff of his neck, and just hold him like that. My chihuahua doesn't even notice it when we pick her up like that. She's almost 9, and we carry her that way.

The nose in the pee usually works. As does pulling a Cesar Milan and snapping at them and biting them with your hands.

As for the dog hater, next time your dogs drop a deuce, throw it onto her lawn. If she mows the lawn, she'll run over it and it'll get into the air around her. Hehehe... It's awful, and you breathe it in. Make sure it's from your older dogs though, small turds won't even be hit by the mower blades.

Ok, so I have a 4 month old beagle mix puppy. He constantly pees in the house and only wants to go outside to bark at my neighbors. My next door neighbor actually threw rat poison over my fence the other day to do as she said, "Shut the damn thing up." So, I have a funny feeling that the next step is going to be a lot worse. I need some training tips on how to get my puppy to not bark at my neighbor and to pee outside. And please don't say shock collar...we tried that on my beagle and it didn't work.
I agree with the people who say the neighbor should be called up for the rat poison, but only if you have evidence; such as, photo, soil sample, or toxicalogy if the poor baby eats it (one of my puppies was murdered by our neighbors with this exact methood but we had no proof).

All that being said I do know some basic things about beagles and training dogs that might help. To start, beagles are prown to barking as they are hunting dogs and they don't have just one bark but three, so just telling them to "shut up" might not work very well. However, if you wish to stop them from barking identify what they are barking at and remove it if you can and make them aware that barking is bad (but avoid hitting, it never helps).

As for training, it's best to teach your puppy a basic commands as soon as possible because it's easier for younger animals to learn if you need to take them on walks or the vet(I was able to train my cocker spanial puppy how to sit, come, and pee outside in less then two weeks after getting her). Just keep an eye on your puppy and use positive reinforcement when the little girl/guy does something you like, but be consistant with commands and instructions or you'll confuse them making it hard to learn.

I hope my advice helps and if you need more just ask ^_~

You can't handle that?, I have two, yes two great pyrenees, those are real dogs, they got a mean brak and bite, but guess what, I controll them as if they were puppies. If you can't handle a beagle, I'd look into getting a cat.

My advice: Hit him in the nose, or grab him in the lose skin around his neck, and throw him outside to pee, he'll get the picture.
He is one of 3 dogs we own...and our 2 other dogs were a bit older when we got them, so he's really the first puppy that we are raising.
In that case I apologize, but I still stick by my advice, a good hit on the nose will shut any dog up.

Edit: what kind of dogs are the other two?

he looks like a long haired Jack Russel, not a beagle. beagles tend to have short hair and longer ears but it could just be cause he's a puppy

now as for the puppy training

if he's been paper trained, put paper down in the house, typically the kitchen cause it has linoleum floors. if they're not paper trained, start. how you do that is when you catch them peeing you say "NO!!!" and pick them up and stick them on the paper and say "stay". if you find out they peed on the carpet you grab them and rub their nose in it and say "NO!!" and spank them and then place them on the paper

you can also stick them outside too but paper training is very good for puppies since they can't always hold it in.

as for the barking, there's not much you can really do, dogs bark. tho it could be that he's a bit lonely so he's barking for attention. get him some toys

Call the police and bring that ***** to justice. With "*****" I ofcourse mean your neighbor.

Like I said, he's a mix, he's got beagle, Jack Russel, and something else in him...he hasn't really pooped in the house, it's the peeing that is the problem now. And as for toys, he won't play with anything except and old Tennis Ball of mine...he'll just walk around carrying it.

The trick is punishment and award system you must use your voice like an authority to him. for instance when he does something good put some enthusiasm into your voice and give him a treat but when he does something bad lower the tone of your voice and raise the volume and a simple light tap on the nose will do
