i dont mind the tranformer movies. explosions. fighting explosions and robots. im not expecting a deep and meaningful movie from transformers, just something to stare at for 1.5 hours.

Not one to speculate this early but I know that Megan Fox was dropped from the threequel (which was planned from a long time now). Happy news for me at least.
Thank god. Now i can rest without her horrible acting ruining these movies.
That still leaves us with that other gremlin, Shia Labeouf!
megatron will take
car of him right?
right?
is that meant to be a transformer pun? wasnt megatron a jet?
Megatron a jet? Megatron a JET??? A JET???????
For an oldtimer like me, that's enough to declare the whole film franchise heresy that should be outlawed and burnt.
Megatron turns into a GUN, that for some reason is more powerful than any of the other transformer's guns despite being about 50 times smaller (he turned into a handgun, while in robot mode he had a giant cannon, and all the other transformers on both sides hade huge laserguns). He's supposed to turn into the gun, which Starscream grabs mid-transformation and shoots (or Soundwave, if Starscream was on one of his take-over-the-decepticon-leadership ploys that he'd try every few episodes).
I even still have the toy from when I was a kid.
But apart from the Galvatron exception, if Megatron doesn't turn into a gun, to be fired by Starscream or Soundwave, he's not Megatron, but just some stooge pseudo-transformer character that's stolen Megatron's name!
turning into a jet makes more sense than a gun. especially a hand gun. does he turn into bullets aswell? after they have been shot does he turn back into robot form and have like an arm or leg missing cause thats where the bullets came from?
all transformers i know of go from robot to a vehicle of some sort. i still have a toy somewhere of a red transformer that turns into a jet. not sure if its a real transformer or a copycat.
but any way. turning into a gun that needs someone else to fire it is just lame.
vehicles turning into a robot and vice versa. turning into anything else isnt a transformer. i guess i can handle them turning into something like a triceratops but not an inanimate object like a gun.
Kids these days - not even respecting the history of their own tv shows!!!
A. The whole 'every transformer must be a car or a jet' thing is something they made up for the new ones. In the original series, you had:
- a whole range of autobots that turned into dinosaurs (the dinobots - major major player in the original series, massively strong but stupid, the deceptacons end up building the constructacons (a series of different building trucks/robots that combine into a giant (even by transformer standards) near-indestructible robot, Devastator, to counter them - early in the 80s film the dinobots get air-dropped onto Devastator and they take each other out),
- the no 3 deceptacon Soundwave turned into a ghetto-blaster (radio+speakers) that played a frequency that would disable every other transformer on the battlefield (deceptacons would usually use this to make their escapes). He'd also be in radio-form for reconnaisance, as humans would assume that he's just someone's radio they've left out.
- there were three other deceptacons that turned into cassette tapes that would come out of Soundwave's radio-form - rumbler would have earth-pounders for arms and create big earthquakes, I forget what the other two did,
- Unicron turned into a planet. Not a jet that looks like a planet. A planet. Of course, Unicron is sort of a special case, only appearing in the 80s movie and not the series;
- There was one autobot that turned into a jet (forgotten his name, but in an episode showing his backstory he's friends with Starscream before the war, and during the 1st series Starscream digs him up. Over that episode he realises that Starscream and the other deceptacons are 'the bad guys' now, and he joins the autobots - he's one of the main autobot characters, in most episodes after that one).
And Megatron, of course, transforms into the most powerful weapon in the show. He has a pretty big weapon on his arm in robot-mode, but the idea was basically that in gun-form he can one-shot anyone else. You hardly ever got 'one on one' battles in the original series, and Starscream was the main 'in the field' deceptacon, (and the one who would usually fire Megatron in gun mode) so it fit the series pretty well. It's also part of the series not being able a bunch of cars and jets - they transformed into all kinds of stuff.
Anyway, if you don't like it...well...it's already in the lore and predates these films by a good 2 decades so nya
