I feel like some part of me wants to see it. But the logical part of me that analyzes how much I might regret the $7.00 admission tells me not to.

I'm not sure yet. I probably will, but I honestly didn't really think it was that good.

Shia Labeof or however the fuck you spell it, is a really bad actor and Megan Fox isn't too much better. The story was ridiculous and I couldn't ever tell what the fuck was going on!

But what do you expect, its Michael Bay. But now, the movie is 2 hours and 57 minutes. That's bullshit.

I probably will go to see it.

Any of you see one of those stupid robot wars shows they had on the scifi channel? Wherein people with remote controlled robots fought each other? I have always taught that show would have been better if they stuck a hot girl waving her physical assets between fights.

All the reviews I have read has convinced me this the movie I have been waiting for.
[edit] that is if the just a robots fighting and hot girls flashing. If there is a plot thrown in and tried to be taken seriously, I might me annoyed.

As previously documented (somewhere, I'm sure) I am a massive Transformers fan. Have been my whole life. I enjoyed the first movie- thought the special effects were groundbreaking and thought the premise, the cast and the sheer enthusiasm of everyone involved forgave most of the dodgy pacing and paper-thin characters. I went to see the sequel on Friday.

Good lord it was bad. The puerile humour is back with a vengeance and the arse-achingly cringeworthy moments are both more common and much, much longer. The effects and stunt work are as brilliant as before, if not more so- in fact the effects are so good it starts to count against it. When I see Skids and Mudflap (you'll see them soon enough) turn up I no longer thought "wow, they look like they're actually there!" but just "what are these two twats up to now?" In my mind, the effects stopped being effects and the giant robots were just like the human characters, which is a bit of a problem because awe and spectacle was what made the first film so memorable and without that the weaknesses everywhere else become all too apparent.

As somebody else said the pacing is all over the place and the final, climactic showdown is a bit of a let-down, not in its own right but because it's just another giant robot punch-up like the six or so we've seen over the past two hours.

All that said, the film does present the Character Find Of 2009 in the form of Jetfire. He rules every scene he's in and provides a hefty theatrical kick-up-the-arse that so much of the rest of the film is lacking, as if he's wandered in from another, better production showing on another screen and some Last Action Hero shenanigans have happened.

Gotta argue with you there. I'm also a Transformers fan, and one of the biggest complaints about the first film was that there was too little focus on the robots, and too much on the humans. Now you're complaining because the many robots were too realistic...?
You weren't supposed to sit in awe of Skids and Mudflap. They were there to entertain the twelve-year olds.
Now, the climax is a bit of a letdown, but then, I really didn't care for it. I got the fight I wanted, and that one took place in a forest.

I'm going to see it eventually (maybe not in theatres, what with the ridiculous prices for tickets and refreshments) for two reasons. First off, I liked the first one, and see no evidence of the second one being worse in the ways I liked the first one. Secondly, and I know I'm massively in the minority here, I think Shia LeBeouf is a decent actor. I know, shoot me.

This film is bad even by Michael Bay's standards. It doesn't even manage the level of "So Bad Its Good". The only reason to see Transformers is to watch giant robots beat the crap out of each other and Mr Bay couldn't even manage that without screwing it up. Who the hell stages a giant robot fight in an area covered in pillars so the line of sight keeps getting blocked?

For Transformers 3, the story should be the magical maguffin appears in a field surrounded by 5 miles of flat, featureless desert and its just the Autobots and Decepticons beating the crap out of each other trying to get hold of it.

It's awful. Totally derivative and very strangely paced.
Well damn, is it at least entertaining in the pretty colors, noise, and explosions kinda way?
Weirdly, no.
That is a weird turn of events. I mean sure Bay's movies lack a plot, but the mind numbing special effects usually remedy this. Still, I hope they stop after this one.

I've always loved Transformers. Unfortunately, I can't say much for the recent animated Transformers. I've never watched it and refuse to. I loved the first one action movie so I can't wait to see this one.

I may go and see it but I doubt it will be this week as a mate of mine is coming over from germany and I doubt I would have the time.
