I think they're looking at things a bit funny. Shouldn't having a relatable character be a key aspect of any decent game, and not a 'feature'? This is pretty basic stuff. I guess he wants to try and get people thinking they'll connect with the protagonist, but by saying "you will connect with the protagonist, because he's being electrocuted, etc." is a pretty shocking way to do it.

Come on Treyarch, show us you mean business.

This sounds pretty promising. I hated Modern Warfare 2's disaster of a campaign (especially compared to CoD4's) so it's good to hear they're trying to mix things up a bit and put more effort into the story than past Call of Duties have.
I must be the only one who actually liked MW2 campaign. I actually loved it. But nothing can compare to Pripyat level in CoD4. Lets hope Black Ops delivers on their promises. They already have a plus for adding bots. I'll still wait for user reviews though.

Eh, I'm sceptical. I mean, what's the main character going to say?

"Yes, sir".
"No, sir"
"Maybe later is you ask nicely, sir".

But Ed Harris and Gary Oldman are win, so that's good.

I can empathize with a character who's been shocked. It hurts, a lot. Of course, I haven't felt anything with that much voltage, but after getting shocked a lot does kind get less painful each time.

It sounds good, but then again it is not that different from what Team Ninja said they would do with the Metroid franchise, and Other M was a disgrace in terms of character development.

As with many other games, I'll wait for the review.

I dont see how we would have enough time to connect to the character. Its only going to be 4 hours long.

They should probably stop talking now...the more aware we are of stuff like this, the less likely it is to work. Just sayin'.

The RPGCOD has now achieved deity-like status, and should be feared as much as the mighty Banhammer. Thank you for creating the best thing since Hexic HD.

On Topic: All I can say is...DO WANT. I was very sceptical at first, but my interest has been piqued.

As do i. But just so long as they don't want us to Kinect to CoD; Back ops then im still ok with it. On a side note i love how they've hard to stop numbering the games as they did. Myabe if people realised this was cod number 7 in just 7 years they might just realise they were being picked up and shook by the ankles for loose change.
They wouldn't.

They're buying 4 maps at a time for £12-a-go, so I don't think - even if they did realise - that they'd care.

What's with Treyarch and torturing the player? World at War opened with an "enhanced" interrogation as well with the Japanese.

OT: Sounds good. Treyarch really seems poised to make an entry to the franchise on par with Infinity Ward (not counting MW2 of course).
