I guess he wants to try and get people thinking they'll connect with the protagonist, but by saying "you will connect with the protagonist, because he's being electrocuted, etc." is a pretty shocking way to do it.
Shocking indeed.

[sub][sub]I'm going to hell for that...[/sub][/sub]
I did that on purpose :p . Was hoping to get an 'I see what you did there' without having to spell it out for people. Cheers for trying to steal my glory though :p

I kind of expected that.

Yes, I was trying to shamelessly steal it, because I had a similar pun lined up anyway.
You bastard. :p

Treyarch making another stamp in CoD history, all the ones sofar have been extremely bad, so I haven't got high hopes for this.
CoD was never story driven, nor did you ever sympathize with anyone, especially not the guy you're playing because you are simply a crazed mass murderer, and I can't find a good reason to connect to that...

Treyarch redoing CoD, again, this will not end well.

Thats what you get when you take on Quick-Gun Mc'Pun. Glad someone else out there appreciates the art though :D

not calling him soap would help i mean what kind of name is soap.
Seriously. How'd a muppet like him pass selection?

OT: I'm really looking forward to having a well acted protagonist in an FPS.(if it turns out right and, hopefully, it will)

I must be the only one who actually liked MW2 campaign. I actually loved it. But nothing can compare to Pripyat level in CoD4. Lets hope Black Ops delivers on their promises. They already have a plus for adding bots. I'll still wait for user reviews though.
Don't worry about all the "cool" kids trying to jump on the hate train. Certainly, Modern Warfare 2 did not live up to it's predecessor, but it was by no means bad. Anybody who was not flipping out at the end mashing the Circle/B/[insert PC key here] button in desperation should check themselves into the morgue.

I probably wont connect emotionally to a character who will die one hundred times in veteran mode b/c of my lack of skill. Havent ever really been connected to a videogame character. I felt sad when *spoiler* ur dad died in FO3. That was only b/c I had just spent hours finding and rescuing him.

This sounds pretty promising. I hated Modern Warfare 2's disaster of a campaign (especially compared to CoD4's) so it's good to hear they're trying to mix things up a bit and put more effort into the story than past Call of Duties have.

What? Who said I hated MW2? I said I hated the complete mess [http://www.gamesradar.com/f/modern-warfare-2s-glaring-plot-holes-exposed/a-20091120123332495077] they made of its storyline. Don't be so quick to write off people who don't don't share the same opinion as you.

A lofty goal indeed. The only characters I have ever felt attached to in shooter games are the ones from the Brothers in Arms series. Maybe because they're ACTUALLY characters, I don't know. RPG characters are a completely different set. Still, this could be interesting...or a disaster, like Resistance 2.

What? Who said I was talking to you? In fact, I wasn't. I was reassuring the lonely soul who felt he was the only who enjoyed MW2. The "hate train" comment was more a generalization about the attitudes in the thread. Anyways, don't be so defensive.
