I thought her acting in C+C 3 wasn't too good, but then it's C+C 3. I hope it's better in SC 2, but I don't have high hopes for the voice acting. Good acting is so rare.Mullahgrrl said:Why don't I kill myself right now?Valiance said:She was awesome in C+C 3, vouched.
All I have to say is...what does it matter? It's frakkin Tricia Helfer! I am now going to buy this game. Whereas before, I wasn't.Malygris said:So... Is anyone else catching a distinct whiff of Activision in all this?
I'd just like to point out (for the benefit of everyone, not just you) that I did say there's no reason to think she won't do a good job. She already has voice-acting experience under her belt which is a big plus and I agree that her talent in front of the camera is far beyond that of most models who turn to acting. It wasn't Shakespeare, but she more than held her own in a very demanding role on BSG.Anton P. Nym said:she's much more than a pretty face.
Let me get this straight... you believe that the financial Overmind that is Blizzard can't be bothered to shell out more money when an actor asks for it? Are you kidding me?Therumancer said:Truthfully we haven't heard the full story involved in the casting choice, while it does superficially reek, we do not know if the original actress was pushing for more money or something at the time this all went down...
...The risks involved (despite the name) definatly make me think there are probably money issues involved somewhere.
Even without massive mainstream fame, people tend to get full of themselves. This seems to happen with cult celebrities once in a while. I could easily see he claiming that since she was well know to Blizzard's legions of fans that she wanted as much money as a serious 'name' (which would sort of make her one) and Blizzard pretty much said "well pffft, for that much money we could get someone who is actually reasonably famous".KazNecro said:Let me get this straight... you believe that the financial Overmind that is Blizzard can't be bothered to shell out more money when an actor asks for it? Let us not forget that Helfer is admittedly alot more recognizable a celebrity as Talkin, so if anyone is going to demand more money, it'd be Helfer. Your point would be valid, and believable, if the roles were reversed. But in this case, it just doesn't hold water with me.
