I was simply naming off things that could possibly indicate the existence of a troll. But, if you would care to look at the entire message of the thread, and not just the main points, [sub](Which you probably didn't, because you're such a troll. Heh...no, I'm kidding.)[/sub] you would see that I was criticizing my interpretation of what a troll is, and saying that I was completely wrong. As a matter of fact, the whole, "What is your definition of a troll," thing was simply an example of how loosely we use the term "troll", being the point of the thread.

Anyway, those are not in my definition of trolling. And frankly, that goes against your 'Provoke a flame war' one.

I never said that they were, that's why I asked you for your definition of the word troll.

Well, if you read the entire thread, you would have seen that it wasn't about Punkhead's Qualifications for a Troll, the point of the thread was that the word troll is used too loosely on this site, by me and others.

Annoying, perhaps, but not necessarily trolls. Some people don't have English as a first language or just aren't good with grammar or spelling to begin with, and some people using the latter might just not be used to typing complete sentences on the internet.

If a post is lost in translation, or if there is truly just a grammatical mistake, it is very distinguishable from "LOL I IZ LIEK TEH FIRST POST!!1"

I doubt there is anyone on the forums with Dyslexia. However, talking in Aim Talk is still very distinguishable from a person typing with Dyslexia.

My definition of troll is someone who makes the forums a less pleasent place to be on a regular basis. Like the Halo Troll of Late 2009. He was annoying

A) Posts first frequently on threads.

B) Has an obscenely high post count compared to how long they've been here.

C) Posts something that is unnecessary, just to provoke a flame war.

D) Posts something completely irrelevant. (I rarely see this on the Escapist)

E) Types with bad grammar and/or spelling, or types in Aim Talk, Leet, or any other foreign internet tongue.

F) Uses swearing, sexism, racism, or other types of explicit content very often, or unnecessarily.

G) Quotes somebody more than twice in a back-and-forth argument, suggesting that they are trolling.

I've seen this a lot on the Escapist, it seems none of you can grasp the very basic fact that a troll is just someone who disrupts shit and annoys people for their own amusement and the amusement of others, its not exactly complicated kids.
