I find the fact those people even thought of this disaster as payback to be in very poor taste and very poor judgement. They should think about what they said and be ashamed of themselves.
I think the rest of the thread has done a great job of pointing out how awful these sort of comments are. I'll just point out another flaw with these people's logic. And it's quite ironic as well. The tsunami also hit, though to much less of a degree, HAWAII.
I like to imagine that this is somewhat similar to what these people are thinking.

The fact that some people can think that a tsunami hitting a WHOLE contery justifies an attack on one naval bace 70 YEARS AGO is alright and proper is amazing. The amount of stupid in these people is off the charts.

god dammit people. yes, back in world war 2, japan attacked us without officially declaring war after agreeing to end fighting with us. we got them back for that; by unleashed the ultimate nuclear fallout on a devastating level on one of their most popular cities, twice. this was like 60 friggin years ago.
this whole "tsunami=revenge for pearl harbor" is some bullshit. i learned in my AP U.S. history class that in the middle of the attack, the japanese imperial general got word that their ambassador hadn't declared war on america before the attack. at that moment, they pulled all of their planes out of pearl harbor. the piolets were going "are you crazy-di-su? we are a killing a them-o!!!" their general said "we forgot to declare war....we are so a fucked-oru" because we were fucking pissed....so we literally made 2 of their most populated cities uninhabitable for some years. and we made them our ***** in the economy from then until now, we fucking own them and they'll never become independent of us, just as a little safeguard to make sure they don't fuck with us again.
