Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm crazy, but when I watch a lot of a TV show, I find that common quotes seep into my everyday vocabulary, or that I can relate pretty much anything that's happening to something that happened on the TV show.

For example, I am a huge [SCRUBS] fan, and I have watched almost every single episode multiple times, and I was recently play a 1v1 match on XBL. Usually I am terrible at the game, and almost always get my ass handed to me. But I had a very flukey run, and ended up winning by 5 kills. That's when I caught myself screaming down my mic to my friend: "DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET MY FRIEND? DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH THE WARRIOR?!?!?!" Luckily, my friend is also a Scrubs fan, so he found it hilarious. This kind of thing happens all the time with me...

So I ask you fellow Escapists; do the TV shows that you watch affect your everyday life? Do you find yourself quoting your favourite show regularly? Or do you keep your entertainment out of your social life?

EDIT: I've just realised that this could apply to anything: Books, Films, Games, Plays... So feel free to add those in if you so wish.

Not so much TV, but I constantly make references to anime, video games, and internet memes, among other things in regular conversation.

Incidentally today was all day Scrubs on the Paramount Comedy channel. Would I be right in guessing you've been watching it all day too? ;D

EDIT: Forgot to give my answer: Yes, and mine also relates to Scrubs. Yesterday me and my friend were playing Nazi Zombie mode on Call of Duty and I accidentally traded a good gun for a shitty one. I went to the random box and said something like 'I sure as hell better be getting something good now'. A browning popped up, to which I said: "Now tha's what ah'm talkin' bout!"
Totally accidentally, but I pulled it off perfectly.

so much it's weird
for a while all i said was quotes it seemed and i was so influenced by shows like happy days and the simpsons
it all started from the mighty boosh you see along with skins

then i stopped and became almost a self parody of myself, each week adopting a new show or character to be influenced by

but recently i stopped... it's the same anymore

I do it occasionally, but I hate myself for it and try to never quote things ive seen. Try my best to come up with original stuff, if I accidently let slip something from TV because ive seen it loads I feel the need to talk about that show so it doesn't seem like im claiming to have come up with it.

I know what you mean, and I have seen the episode you're talking about, but since I am so trivia-obsessed I have to mention that quote is originally from a film called "the warriors"...or did you all already know that?
Anyway, yes I always (almost subconsciously) quote from numerous things. It can get very annoying!

Oh God yes! I'll high five for anything:
"hey look, I got Pizza for lunch!"
"Pizza Five!"
"Aww... It fell on the ground"
"Ground Five!"
"Shut Up"
"Quiet Five..."
"That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!"

Arrested Development is my favourite show and I know damn near every quote from the first season. Quotes from that show literally rule my life, any chance I get I will take it. At my birthday, my mom gave me a piece of cake and I said,

'If I wanted something your finger touched, I would eat the inside of your ear!'

And I always give my brothers shoulder messages and say, 'Hey Brother.'

I vaguely knew that, but I haven't seen it... I just love Turk's expression :-D

Lately, I've been mentally classifying everything as "Hemingwayian" (Is that even a proper word?) due to my (probably unhealthily huge) love for the writing of Ernest Hemingway. An whenever I'm talking to my brother, I make constant The Simpsons-references.

Oh yes, Simpsons references, they come up everywhere in my conversations. I mean, come on; D'oh is recognised by at least 2 major dictionaries now! That's a global example of what I'm asking about :)
