I can't imagine how many days of my life I've lost on that bloody site. I went on there one day to quickly look something up... before I knew it, six hours had passed and I was starving. Yet still we keep going back for more.

I guess it's like any other wiki though - the tendency for wiki-walking [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WikiWalk] is strong. Erm, better not click on that link then matey.

I've clicked on links to it many times, and I've only ever clicked through two other things on it...I can't say I see why it's so distracting.

Ditto. I don't find it addictive at all. I can read a couple articles sure, but I don't see what all the buzz is about.

I once browsed it from my phone (Opera Mini - only one tab at once), and clicked the first link in an article. After a 47-hour Wiki Walk (sleep excluded, I've seriously fallen asleep holding the phone and continued reading immediately after waking up) I came back to the original page... only to click the second link. Then my batteries died and it was like being released from a curse.

I love TV-Tropes, without that wonderful site, I wouldn't have found half the things I now regularly read/watch on the internet.

I always thought TV tropes was such a nice site in comparison to encyclopedia dramatica and 4chan. Its worse because it makes you trust it...

Still I think time on it is time well spent, theres a genuine quality to whats on there.

I can get pretty bad about TVTropes, but I think I have problem just with tabs in general. At this very moment, I've got two Something Awful tabs, nine TVTropes tabs, four Cracked tabs, three Shoryuken tabs, three YouTube tabs, an FML tab, two Daily Squee tabs, four Pirates of the Caribbean Wiki tabs (I was watching At World's End and wanted to know more about the Brethren Court, okay?), a Wikipedia tab, two Google tabs and two Escapist tabs. Yeah, I have a problem.

I have probably lost between 150-200 hours on that site, and I'm sure there are people with 10x that number out there. TVTropes will ruin your life!

The most I've ever gone was about a half hour, but I had like 10 different tabs open and every time I saw something that I wanted to read I would just open it in a new tab... but I haven't been addicted like some people...
